Yum Cha & Chit Chat At Doi Chaang Coffee

It was a Saturday evening and as I was typing away on the keyboard, I received a text message from a young lady. She asked whether we have any plan later in the evening. I replied that we have none. Then she texted to inform that she would like to take us out for "yum cha" later in the evening but she didn't say where. "Yum cha" is a Cantonese phrase for "drink tea" or "have a drink".

Just as I was about to shut down my computer, our young lady friend texted me again to inform that she will be coming over to our house to pick us up at about 9.15 pm. I told her that it was still raining. She replied that her car "ada bumbung" and the "yum cha" place also "ada bumbung". Lol! "Ada bumbung" in Malay means "has a roof". According to her, the place is not very far away and not very near either. So we just sat back and enjoy the car ride.

Thanks to this young lady, we had a wonderful "yum cha" experience and fellowship time that night!
So, this was where our young lady friend took us for "yum cha"!
Doi Chaang Coffee by Morning Jolt,
Jalan Medan Ipoh 9, Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh.
We ordered these for our "yum cha".
Iced Chocolate Hazelnut (upfront) for me.
Green Tea Latte for our young lady friend.
A pretty design on the Green Tea Latte.
Hubby's Blended Ice Chocolate Hazelnut (if I remember correctly).
None of us ordered coffee because we didn't want to be kept awake the whole night and be a sleepy head in church the next morning. But we sat and enjoyed one another's company past their last call.
Coffee grinder.
I was able to take all these snapshots from where we were seated.
Order and payment counter
Menu on the black board and cakes chiller.
Some old antiques as decorations
Enamel tiffin carrier, ancient drink containers and hot water flask on the top shelf.
Antique coffee grinders and tea or coffee urns on display.
Horse head sculpture on the shelf.
Hanging light bulbs for decoration.

So don't be misled, my dear brothers and sisters.
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us
from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens.
He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word.
And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
(James 1:16-18, New Living Translation-NLT)
