Two Sundays ago, we attended a Thanksgiving buffet dinner at the Salvation Old Folks Home, sponsored by a church member who helps to minister to the inmates of the home. Before the event started, I had some time to take some snapshots.
This mini water feature with gold fishes was the first to catch my attention.
Pretty white flowers.
And this colourful plant.
The inmates were all ready and waiting.
A time of Praise and Worship session.

Most of the food were still covered with thin plastic wrap, so the poor photo quality.
Deep fried chicken with egg floss.
Mixed vegetable
Deep fried chicken wings
Bean curd stuffed with enoki mushroom.
Fried rice vermicelli and fried rice.
Deep fried something, not sure what.
Baked fish, oyster and salted egg yolk wrap with foil.
Chicken and potato curry, and plain steamed rice noodle with minced pork gravy.
Goji berries agar-agar or jelly.
Watermelon.

The following photos are for joining Saturday's Critters.
These gold fishes thought I was going to feed them.
Just look at their big opened mouths.
Gold fishes are so graceful.
At one time, we used to rear gold fishes too.
And found one beautiful red Betta fish inside the home.
It is kept in a small bottle, yet it is so healthy.
It is very active.
Just look at the beautiful colours.
These few days have been very busy ones, but I will catch up with my visit to your blogs and comments when everything gets back to normal. Do excuse me.

and quiet spirit that is so precious to God

...a bit different than our Thanksgiving dinner!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is different.
DeleteA lovely Thanksgiving meal, and very lovely fish, too. It would be nice if the USA celebrated Thanksgiving earlier in the autumn, it gets more and more lost in the Christmas frenzy now.
ReplyDeleteIt is so true...

DeleteA lovely variety of dishes and pretty fish. I once had a dentist who kept two large tanks of tropical fish in his waiting room (plus colorful prints of animals on the walls). It was very relaxing to watch the fish while waiting for an appointment. Sadly he retired and and so did the fish.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to have fishes in an aquarium in clinic and hospitals to create the calming effect.
