Lunch At W & S Full House, Ipoh.

The four retirees met up again and this time we had lunch at W & S Full House because someone recommended it. We took a while to go through the menu before deciding what we wanted to order. To order, we have to fill up the order chit. We ordered the following items to share. The add-ons were served first.
Deep fried crispy bean curd sheet with minced meat filling.
Deep fried Nyonya meat roll.
Fried rice with prawns, salted fish and egg.
Fried flat rice noodle with prawns, meat and egg.
The fried rice and noodle were served in stainless steel skillets.
Hawaiian pizza with a thin layer of bread.
2 pieces of cheesecake.
2 person shared a piece of cheesecake.
It has been ages since I last drank this A&W ice-cream float.
It was a wonderful lunch and we enjoyed it very much.
This place is worth returning especially for the cheesecake.

But Christ, God's faithful Son, is in complete charge of God's house.
And we Christians are God's house - he lives in us! -
if we keep up our courage firm to the end,
and our joy and our trust in the Lord.

Beauty Of Nature - God's Amazing Creation!

I came across these snapshots taken during our last holiday in Fraser's Hill which was in November 2016. So quickly 2 years have passed. The things I enjoyed most are the flowers and the fresh air in Fraser's Hill. Below are some of the flowers found in the garden of the holiday bungalow we stayed in.

The following 2 plants are found by the roadsides.

Find me if you can - I am green and I can hop!

If you can find a truly good wife, she is worth more than precious gems!
Her husband can trust her, and she will richly satisfy his needs.
She will not hinder him but help him all her life.

Home Cooking Home Grown Vegetables

Since I started to plant edibles in my garden, I have to be diligent to cook my garden produce. There is no point in planting vegetables if I do not want to cook them. When my bitter gourd plants started producing, we were enjoying home cooked bitter gourd dishes quite often.

Below are some very simple home cooked dishes that I have cooked for our dinner for 2 people. The bitter gourds and chilies I used were home grown. The fishes were from my son's fishing trip.
Dinner for Day 1
Left: Yam or taro cooked with dried prawns and garlic.
Right: Bitter gourd with preserved salted black beans, dried prawns, chili, garlic.
Dinner for Day 2

Right: White bitter gourd slices and egg omelette.
Dinner for Day 3

It is nice to drive when the roads are quiet and with light traffic.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all
pure and full of quiet gentleness.
Then it is peace-loving and courteous.
It allows discussion and is willing to yield to others;
it is full of mercy and good deeds.
It is wholehearted and straightforward and sincere.

We also order toast bread with butter and coconut jam.
And 2 glasses of iced coffee.

And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him?
That is what the Scriptures are talking about when they say,
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace
with God and bring glad tidings of good things.
In other words, how welcome are those
who come preaching God's Good News!

Pink Anthurium In My Garden

I like Anthurium flowers and the flowers are commonly used for flower arrangements. I got this pink Anthurium baby from a church member many years ago. She had passed on a few years ago but whenever I see the flowers I remember her.
It took many years before the first bloom appeared when under my care.
Finally, it decided it is time to bloom.
The flower is not big, it is smaller than my palm.
I have shifted the plant around and it is now under semi shade.
I like Anthurium because it can last a long time.
Another flower appeared when I least expected it. It was a lovely surprise.
It took a long time for the first flower to slowly fade.
I still get to enjoy the flowers even though the colour is lighter now.
Other names are Laceleaf, Tailflower, Flamingo flower and Boy Flower.
I remember hearing someone calling it Naughty Boy Flower!
Currently, I am waiting for the next flower to appear.

Now as for you, dear brothers who are waiting for the Lord's return,
be patient, like a farmer who waits until the autumn
for his precious harvest to ripen.
