In about a week's time, we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year 2019. Before that, we had our annual lunch gathering with ex-colleagues to celebrate the "closing" or end of the Chinese calendar year for 2018. The organizer make reservation for a set menu for 10 people.
Our lunch started with the first dish.
Prosperity Toss Salad or Yu Sang - a must for our pre CNY celebration.
#1 - Adding of deep fried crunchy ingredients.
#2 - Adding of abalone slices instead of raw fish slices.
#3 - Pouring thick and sticky sweet sauce over the dish.
#4 - The dish is now ready to be tossed with the chopsticks.
Here is a short video of the tossing of the prosperity salad.
2nd - Assorted treasures soup with lots of ingredients.
The soup was full of flavour and sweetness.
I think we each had about 2 to 3 bowls of soup.
3rd - Steamed meaty grouper fish.
4th - Crunchy deep fried pork knuckle with salad and dipping sauce.
5th - Deep fried soy sauce prawns.
6th - Stir fried mix vegetables topped with cashew nuts.
7th - Lap Mei Fun (Fragrant rice with waxed meat and Chinese sausages)
8th - Konnyaku Jelly (no picture to show)
This set lunch costs - RM 668.

Before the lunch started, we posed for some group photos.
This year we welcomed a young lady into our group.
Yellow is the theme for the annual lunch gathering.
Coincidentally, the table cloth was also yellow.
From us to you:
" WISHING YOU A
HAPPY & BLESSED CHINESE NEW YEAR! "
" WISHING YOU A
HAPPY & BLESSED CHINESE NEW YEAR! "
I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and
increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.
You will still be eating last year's harvest
when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.
I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you.
(Leviticus 26:9-11, New International Version-NIV)
Everything looks delish.
