The Durians & Mangoes Are In Season

The durian fruit, also known as the King of fruits and mangoes are in season now. Hubby and I are fans of durians. We have had a few rounds of durians since the season started and we were informed that the durian season will be over soon.
This morning hubby bought 2 durians from one stall and I bought 3 green coconuts from another stall at the recreational park. We kept the durians and coconuts in the car boot and we continued with our walk. Upon reaching home, the fruits were taken out and I have to wind down the car windows to air the inside of the car from the strong smell of the durians.
We had these durians for our mid morning snack.
After the durians, we had fresh coconut water to wash down the durians. I didn't take any pictures of the coconuts.
Whenever possible, I find it more convenient to take along my own containers to the durian stall. The seller will cut open the durians for me to pack them. If there is any bad fruit, the seller will immediately replace it.
We love chilled durians.
I was blessed with these mangoes when I made a home visit last month.
Few weeks later, my friend called me to collect these mangoes from her house.

Sunset Bells from my garden

Hallelujah! O servants of Jehovah, praise his name.
Blessed is his name forever and forever.
Praise him from sunrise to sunset!
For he is high above the nations;
his glory is far greater than the heavens.
(Psalm 113:1-4, The Living Bible-TLB)

  3. My man bought home some mangoes last night and the whole house still smell of it. Haha. Not a big fan of both fruits. One reason is heaty. I am very susceptible to fall sick due to heaty food.

  13. This is what we would call a Buttermilk Sky, when the clouds are this way. Sunset Bells, never saw or heard of them. How sweet! Are they named that because they bloom in the evening?

    1. Buttermilk sky, nice name. Sunset bells don't like direct sunlight.

  19. I use coconut water all the time to redhydrate after running or bicycling in hot weather. It quenches my thirst immediately and is very refreshing. These days I don’t even get the flavored variety as I am used to the natural taste.
I am totally curious about the durian fruit. I am not sure that we can get it here. Mangoes are kind of a luxury and I love them.
Great skies, and great celebratory scripture.
    Have a great weekend!!
