The durian fruit, also known as the King of fruits and mangoes are in season now. Hubby and I are fans of durians. We have had a few rounds of durians since the season started and we were informed that the durian season will be over soon.
This morning hubby bought 2 durians from one stall and I bought 3 green coconuts from another stall at the recreational park. We kept the durians and coconuts in the car boot and we continued with our walk. Upon reaching home, the fruits were taken out and I have to wind down the car windows to air the inside of the car from the strong smell of the durians.
We had these durians for our mid morning snack.
After the durians, we had fresh coconut water to wash down the durians. I didn't take any pictures of the coconuts.
Whenever possible, I find it more convenient to take along my own containers to the durian stall. The seller will cut open the durians for me to pack them. If there is any bad fruit, the seller will immediately replace it.
We love chilled durians.
I was blessed with these mangoes when I made a home visit last month.
Few weeks later, my friend called me to collect these mangoes from her house.

Sunset Bells from my garden
Linking to Friday Bliss & Skywatch Friday.
Hallelujah! O servants of Jehovah, praise his name.
Blessed is his name forever and forever.
Praise him from sunrise to sunset!
For he is high above the nations;
his glory is far greater than the heavens.
(Psalm 113:1-4, The Living Bible-TLB)
Wow, Durian!! I can taste and smell them from here, yum yum !!
ReplyDeleteThere are beautiful clouds and sunset bells :)
Happy Friday!
Thank you, Evi. Happy weekend!
DeleteSuperb.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jim.
DeleteDurian- I heard that its smell it's horrible. I am so curious about the taste xx
ReplyDeleteThe smell could be horrible or pleasant depending on the individual.
DeleteMy man bought home some mangoes last night and the whole house still smell of it. Haha. Not a big fan of both fruits. One reason is heaty. I am very susceptible to fall sick due to heaty food.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of both fruits. Some of my friends do not eat durians at all.
DeleteI have never eaten a durian before!:)
ReplyDeleteIt is a tropical fruit. It may not grow in your country.
DeleteHello Nancy, the fruit is new to me. It is strange looking. Pretty skies and I love your Sunset bells plant. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. Have a happy weekend too!
DeleteOh this is the first time I saw those sunset bells and they look magical! I want those on my garden :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steven.

ReplyDeleteLovely sunset bells flowers, this is the first time I seen them.
Thank you, Libby!
DeleteSo interesting to read about durians Nancy. Google told that it is a 'smelling fruit' :) Well, must taste delicious, have never tried. What to say about your sky photos - simply amazing! Thank you for linking at Friday Bliss - have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Riitta. It is either you like the smell or you will love the smell. Have a great weekend too!
Delete...I need to try durians when I'm in Maui.
ReplyDeletePlease do. At least you know whether you like it or not.
DeleteI love mangoes. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Happy weekend!
DeleteWhat a magical sky, a fairy tale !! :)))
ReplyDeleteMY NEW POST ♥♥♥
Thank you, Nastya.
Deletechilled durians are the best, better tasting than eating ice cream and more nutritious!
ReplyDeleteYes, just like eating ice-cream. Yums!
DeleteA good season for durian
ReplyDeleteVery good durian season, cheaper than previous years.
DeleteThis is what we would call a Buttermilk Sky, when the clouds are this way. Sunset Bells, never saw or heard of them. How sweet! Are they named that because they bloom in the evening?
ReplyDeleteButtermilk sky, nice name. Sunset bells don't like direct sunlight.
DeleteI want to try some durians too! Those sky photos are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Do try at least once.
DeleteLovely post dear! Have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you and happy weekend!
DeleteI've heard you talk about the durians and say how much you love them. What do taste like Nancy? I've eaten mangoes before and they taste good but I've never eaten durians. See ya.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
The texture is soft and doesn't taste like any other fruits. I think you would much prefer mangoes any time. Lol!
DeleteI've never had a durian. I've had mangoes though. Nothing better than fresh fruit in the summer.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend, Nancy. ♥
Mangoes are very refreshing for hot days. We need to drink more water after taking durians.
DeleteI had never heard of the Durian fruit...it is interesting to look at...wondering what you think it tastes like.
ReplyDeleteThe texture of the fruit is soft. Some do not like durians but we love it.
DeleteI use coconut water all the time to redhydrate after running or bicycling in hot weather. It quenches my thirst immediately and is very refreshing. These days I don’t even get the flavored variety as I am used to the natural taste.
ReplyDeleteI am totally curious about the durian fruit. I am not sure that we can get it here. Mangoes are kind of a luxury and I love them.
Great skies, and great celebratory scripture.
Have a great weekend!!
Coconut is good and we drink lots of coconut water. Both durians and mangoes are not cheap.
DeleteMangoes I love never heard of durians!! Happy weekend, Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. Happy weekend too!
DeleteOh very nice durian darling~ Thanks for share
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sakuranko.
DeleteI have tried durian in Bali and I must say I'm okay if I don't get to eat fresh, raw durian again. However, I love durian candies and durian shake, go figure.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
At least you tried. Some of my friends do no want anything with durian in it.
DeleteBeautiful sky shots. Seems like as the morning progressed, the sky got prettier!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear. Happy weekend!
DeleteThose are fruits we don't see here.
ReplyDeleteThese are tropical fruits. Have a great weekend!
DeleteWe love mangoes, and we cannot get durian here so i have never tried it. Mango and avocado go well together, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. I have not tried mango with avocado.
DeleteI have never had a durian, not sure that we can get them here. The skyshots are a delight. I love to skywatch. Have a nice weekend.
