Lunch And Dinner On a Cloudy Day

We were passing by Pasir Pinji area and hubby suggested chee cheong fun (steamed flat rice noodle) for lunch. Good timing because the weather is not too warm to sit and wait for our lunch. Reached there to find that the waiting queue was not long. We were given a number and we found ourselves a place to sit and wait.
Our lunch, the famous Pasir Pinji chee cheong fun.
The texture of the noodle and sauce is different from others.
For our drink, hubby and I shared this 100 Plus.
Early morning sky at the recreational park - 6:50 am
Still not bright even though it was about 7:00 am.

I cooked the following for dinner for 2.
 Pan fried soy sauce prawns.
Stir fried assorted home grown vegetables from my garden consisting of stubby okras, white bitter gourd, long beans, white and purple eggplants or brinjals.
 Japanese Koi
I took these snapshots during one of our holidays in Cameron Highlands.
 Japanese Koi in different colours.
Love the brilliant colours of the Japanese Koi.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.
As the light approaches,
the earth takes shape like clay pressed beneath a seal;
it is robed in brilliant colors.

Stewed Pork Ribs With Chestnuts & Morning Sky

We have not been regular with our morning walk, either it was raining in the early morning or we were out of town. Now we are back to our early morning walk at the recreational park.
6:50 am at the park, breaking of dawn.
Some light reflected on the pond.
Under the dark cloud was a layer of pink - 7:00 am.
The sun is rising from behind the hills.
Sun rays piercing through the cloud - 7:17 am.

7:18 am.

Looks like a cloudy day.
Cockscomb flower in front of my house.
Stewed pork ribs with chestnuts and mushrooms.
I love chestnuts and I put in extra chestnuts. The chestnuts soaked up most of the gravy. I don't need any rice because I ate most of the chestnuts.
Snake beans cooked with pork slices and garlic.
White scallop fence.
Sorry about the reflected images that got into the picture.

But we Christians have no veil over our faces;
we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord.
And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us,
we become more and more like him.

The first time we had dinner at Chuen Kah Fook Restaurant, it was a good dinner. Three days later, we went back to the same restaurant to try other dishes. This time we could order extra dishes because there were 6 people to share the food.
Deep fried tofu with minced pork.
Loh Hon Chai - a vegetarian dish consisting of  cabbage, carrot, black fungus, broccoli, tofu puffs, etc.
Stewed Pork leg and daikon (white radish).
Water spinach (kangkong) cooked with prawn paste (belacan) in clay pot.
Steamed Tilapia topped with spicy chili garlic sauce.
Dinner for 6 people - RM 118.40
(including Chinese tea & 4 plates of small portion rice.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Stuffed Ingredients And Chee Cheong Fun For Dinner

I have a few purple and white eggplant or brinjal plants growing in my garden. They have been very fruitful.
White brinjal or eggplant, slim and long ones.
I harvest some stunted purple brinjals from an old plant and some slim and long white brinjals.
The next day, I harvested these lovely white brinjals and 2 more purple ones.
Another morning, I harvested the above.
How to use up all the above?
I could only think of making stuffed ingredients.
Stuffed white and purple brinjals, bitter gourds, long beans, stubby okras, tofu and tofu puffs. Made the stuffing with fish paste, minced pork, chopped spring onions and chilies.
Set aside the above for that evening's dinner with chili sauce as dipping. The rest kept in the freezer until needed.
We were blessed with 2 packets of steamed flat noodle (chee cheong fun) by a friend and we ate with our stuffed ingredients for dinner.
The steamed flat noodles were packed with sauce, and pig's skin and long beans curry.
Due to excessive rain, my pink fairy lilies are happily flowering.
During this monsoon season, we see dark clouds almost every late afternoon or evening.
Heavy thunderstorm expected anytime in the evening.
When we see dark cloud like this, we usually choose to stay home unless unavoidable.

The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering
and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.

Breakfast: Prawn Noodle, Dinner: Steamed Eggs & Steamed Brinjals

It was a beautiful morning and we could feel the cool morning breeze blowing as we walk in the park.
 Sunrise - 7:00 am
Once we have finished our rounds of walking, we were thinking of the prawn noodle we want to try at a new place.
This car was in front of us as we were heading towards our breakfast place.
This is the 2nd time I see such car on the road.
Doesn't this prawn noodle looks delicious?
White and purple periwinkles in full bloom in front of my house.

We had the following simple home cooked dishes for dinner.
Steamed Eggs consisting of fresh chicken egg, century egg & salted egg.
Steamed White Brinjals or eggplants, drizzled with scallop sauce & garlic oil.
Pan fried salted "cooked fish" and cucumber pickle.
An old rusty antique 4-wheels child's peddler found at the Flea Market.

It's like this: when I was a child I spoke and thought
and reasoned as a child does.
But when I became a man my thoughts grew far beyond those
of my childhood, and now I have put away the childish things.
