Fish Noodle With Wine & Spicy Mustard Green (Choy Keok)

Latest update: National wide for Malaysia effective from 1st to 14th June, 2021. I don't know whether it will be the same as the first MCO 1.0 imposed last year. We will have to wait for the authority to fine tune the sop.

Okay, back to my post. This was last Wednesday. We continued our morning walk as usual but we made sure we were early when there is hardly anyone on the streets.

Morning sky with the sun almost hidden behind the thick cottony clouds. I don't know if there is special name for this cloud.
~~~~~
For breakfast, hubby rode out on his motorcycle to buy takeaway breakfast from our regular coffee shop.
Our favourite fish noodle consisting of fish meat, salted vegetable (hum choy), napa cabbage, tomato, ginger strips, fish cake, rice vermicelli and cooking wine.
1 portion of fish noodle divided into 2 bowls.
4 pieces of side order (stuffed items) and black coffee.
~~~~~
About 10am plus, hubby and I went out to settle our banking and errands because we were anticipating another movement control order (MCO 3.0). I prefer to get things done without burdening my mind with undone things during MCO. Hubby was in the car waiting for me while I was in the bank and someone passing by pointed to our car's front tire (his side). He took a look and saw that the tire was flat! When I came out from the bank, hubby was busy changing tires.
A worker attending to my old faithful Proton Wira at the tire shop.
After the punctured tire was replaced by the spare tire, we drove to the nearest tire shop. They checked and found a nail in the tire. It was a hot and sweaty day and we postponed the rest of the errand to the next morning. We drove straight home to take a rest and a good bath.
~~~~~
What we had for dinner.
I haven't cooked spicy mustard green (choy keok) for a long time. After reading my friend's post on her "choy keok", I was drooling and I went out to get all the ingredients ready on hand. I couldn't get roasted pork leg, so I bought roast pork bones with lots of meat on it.
All in 1 pot.
Main ingredients used: Roast pork bones with meat, both fresh and salted mustard green (kai choy and hum choy), dried chilies, garlic and onions, tomatoes, tamarind slices, and etc.
Hubby and I had only this dish (2 bowls each) for dinner without any rice.
This was the leftover kept for next day minus 1 big portion for our neighbour and what we had for dinner.
~~~~~
Snapshots from our morning walk.
Captain Rooster.
It looks like he is the head of the flock.
He seems to be the biggest and oldest rooster among the other roosters

Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

even when he is old he will not depart from it.

  9. Your fish noodles look so delicious and the portion so big until it filled two bowls to the brim. Luckily your husband is a pro at changing tyres. If you were the only one using the car, are you able to change the tyre?

  11. You still can find roosters in your streets. In SG, all disappear! The Kai choy dish looks so yummy and appetizing and I can eat lots of rice with that.

  15. It's good that someone pointed out the tire before you tried to drive on it too far. It's never fun to have a flat, i hope you find no more nails in the road.

    Mr. Rooster does seem to be large and in charge.

  19. I know what that is like. I had 2 nails and a screw stuck into my back tire. They tried to fix it but it was not able to be done so I bought 2 new back tire for my Camero. They were larger tires so it cost me more money. This year I bought new front tires and so I really have new car when you think about.
