All of a sudden there was a longing for blanched Ipoh bean sprouts and poached white chicken for dinner. For a long, long time we have not been to town for the famous bean sprout and chicken in Ipoh town because we can get the same bean sprout and chicken in Buntong village. This shop belongs to the sibling of Lou Wong and now the younger generation has taken over the running of the business.
Since there were only two of us, we ordered a small plate of blanched bean sprout. The bean sprout is fresh and crispy.
A small plate of poached white chicken. The meat is smooth and tender.
In order to enjoy a relaxed meal, we usually come early to avoid the dinner crowd. The place will be packed on public holidays and weekends.

Nancy, I love blanched beansprouts and poached white chicken. To me these two are simple dishes yet tastes so good. But I can't get the same effect at home as the ones from the restaurant or hawkers taste a lot better hah..hah...
ReplyDeleteHah hah Phong Hong, I too have the same problem. Can never get my beansprouts and chicken to taste the same as we ate outside.
DeleteWe don't have those fat taugeh over here in Kuching. Chicken meat looks juicy. No chicken rice??? Overall, very nice dinner.
ReplyDeleteIpoh taugeh is fat and short. No rice, Irene, we just took noodles.
DeleteI loves beansprouts this way instead of eating it with kway teow mee, etc..
ReplyDeleteI alone can finish 2 plates of beansprouts. Just love beansprouts.
DeleteI have heard so often of this famous one in Buntong but have never been ... have only tried those in town ... got to try this Buntong one ! Looks delish ;)
ReplyDeleteI seldom go to town for beansprout and chicken. And i prefer the Buntong one.
DeleteI also never been here before... Must make a trip there one day..... is it opened around 5.30pm? hahahaa... eat and then go home...
ReplyDeleteWhenever you want, just let me know & I will take you there
DeleteGood that there is no need to venture into town and queue with tourists for the famous Ipoh chicken meal when you can get the same food nearer to your place.
ReplyDeleteSaves us a lot of time and petrol too.
DeleteLooks yummy! And what is the sauce that the chicken is resting in? It it soy sauce?
ReplyDeleteIts diluted soy sauce and garlic oil.
