Just before the Chinese New Year festive season, hubby suddenly thought of having lunch at Restoran Yew Ming, Jalan Bandar Timah in Ipoh old town. We have not been here for a very long, long time and we do not know whether the business is still in operation or not. The last time we were here was when my sons were very young and that is really a long time ago. The first time we passed by the sthop, it was closed. After that, it was the festive season.
Yesterday, hubby remembered and we went there for our lunch. They have taken over the next door shop and used it to place extra tables for their customers. When we were seated, we were handed a menu form to tick our orders.
The form were in Chinese and English language.
The place for preparing and cutting vegetables before being taken into the kitchen to be cooked. Service good and friendly.
We were seated just next to the wall with the menu hanging on it. I took these pictures from my sitting position.
This is the back portion, behind this portion is the kitchen. Most of the customers were seated at the next door shop.
This is the cash counter area.
On the menu form was written Fried Garlic Roast Pork in English. We thought it meant fried chopped garlic roast pork. It turned out to be Fried Garlic Green Roast Pork. I like garlic green but hubby does not like. Surprisingly, this time he did not complain and ate the garlic green too.
Initially, we ordered Bean Sprout with salted fish but were told that they do not have salted fish. We were recommended to try this version. Bean Sprout with salted vegetable. Our first time eating this dish, it tasted sweet sourish. All the above dishes were freshly cooked, they were not ready cooked ones.
A bowl of Teochew style white plain porridge for me and a bowl of white rice for hubby. Later hubby added a bowl of porridge.
Our lunch costs MYR 24 (approx. 6.64 USD)
Everything looks especially good. I think they have a really big business because they had to expand.
