Sunday Lunch At Restoran Ma Chai, Menglembu

Every Sunday, our church worship service ends around 12 midday. After that our group would gather at a chosen eatery for lunch and fellowship. We have a few places to choose from and for this particular Sunday, we chose Restoran Ma Chai in Menglembu.
Restoran Ma Chai is a popular place especially on weekends. The place will be packed during lunch time and especially on public holidays. On that Sunday, we managed to get parking bays for our cars and were able to secure a table too even though it was crowded.
Hubby's plain flat rice noodle (chee cheong fun) with stinky beans sambal (sambal petai) plus curry gravy, sprinkled with sesame seeds.

My plate of stuffed flat rice noodle (chee cheong fun with filling). I added some fragrant spicy fried chicken meat plus mushroom gravy, sprinkled with sesame seeds.

A piece of crispy deep fried chicken, well marinated and flavourful, for both of us. The outside is crispy and the flesh juicy and tender. I didn't take snapshots of other member's food.

All the food are displayed in a glass casing and customers are to line up and give the orders. Pay as the plate of food is handed over to the customer. The popular crispy deep fried chicken is on the right side.
More varieties to choose from. Plain white rice and flat rice noodles are both available to go with all the side dishes.
There are many types of spicy food and curries. There are chicken curry, octopus curry, wild boar curry, sambal anchovies, etc.

There's the stinky beans sambal (sambal petai) and the dish upfront is the spicy deep fried chicken which is my favourite.

Bull's eye eggs fried in this patty tray.

These are the stuffed flat rice noodles.
White radish cake at the background. Taro cake at the front.

Our desserts - shaved ice jelly, sprinkled with sour plums powder.

And ice blended red bean sweet drink.
Here ends our Sunday fellowship lunch. Looking forward to our next Sunday fellowship lunch at another eatery, keeping our fellowship with on another strong and warm.
So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught
from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship
with the Son and with the Father. And in this fellowship
we enjoy the eternal life He promised us.

    1. CCF with mushroom gravy is common. Usually there is curry gravy with pork's skin, red sweet sauce etc.
