I came to know about this place called Jelly Bar from a Facebook posting. I love coconut water and I have tasted coconut jelly and I love it. During one of our foodie outings, we wanted something light and we decided on Kafe Jelly Bar in Bercham. This was our first time here and we were looking forward to try the desserts here.
We arrived at about 3.30 pm on a weekend. At that time we were the only customers. I have the feeling of stepping into a children's nursery especially with this rainbow coloured bookshelf.
Being the only customers, we had the freedom to take pictures with permission from the owner.
Beautiful tea sets and miniature toys on display on this pretty wooden showcase.
The walls were painted in pretty, soft colours.
Photos of jelly desserts and meaningful quotes displayed on the wall.
More pictures and quotes on the wall....
Cute Emoji Plush for sale @ RM30 each.
They take orders for Birthday Jelly cakes e.g. like this heart shaped design, etc.

We ordered 1 homemade Thailand coconut ice-cream (RM6.00),
consisting of sweet corn, coconut jelly, ice-cream and crunchies.
The lady boss explained that the ice-cream was not of creamy texture because she blended the coconut flesh together with the ice-cream.
We ordered 1 yam jelly (left) and the fragrant Thailand coconut jelly (right) was given free for us to taste. We enjoyed the coconut jelly very much.
Cost RM3.50 each. I love the fragrant coconut jelly!
Oops! Suddenly remembered we have not taken any picture of this Durian ice-cream! Left this little bit only - better than nothing to show..ha ha!
The durian ice-cream was also given free for us to taste.
I would love to come back for the fragrant coconut jelly and the durian ice-cream. They are lips smacking delights!

DeleteSo the Jelly bar sells ice creams too! What other ice cream flavours does it sell apart from coconut and durian?
ReplyDeleteMun, I am not sure what other flavours they have. Looks like they are more into coconut jelly. The durian ice cream was not in the menu. Maybe they are coming up with more items to add to the menu.
DeleteI love those tea sets. I tried coconut water...couldn't quite get into it, but maybe I just didn't try the right kind! What is "jelly" over there? Here we call jam jelly...the stuff you spread on toast or "peanut butter and jelly sandwiches." Looks like it's a beverage there?
ReplyDeleteIt is not a beverage and it is not like the jam jelly or peanut butter that we spread on the toast. It is a clear, semi-solid jelly like substance made from boiling agar-agar (obtained from seaweed or algae) with water and sugar. (In this case, coconut water is added or other fruit juice or flavour). When the liquid is cooled, it will set to become semi-solid.
DeleteThose desserts look tempting!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William. Have a great day!
DeleteWhat a beautiful place, Nancy! I love their decor and ambiance, the colour scheme is bright, cheerful and very attractive and their sign is fantastic! :)
