A Short Visit to Lubok Timah Hot Spring, Perak.

Starting our one day trip to Cameron Highlands.

Early last Monday morning, we drove to Bercham to pick up a friend and we had breakfast in Restoran Hin Fatt. We are not familiar with the food in Bercham so our friend suggested this place.
Hubby ordered "kai see hor fun", a non spicy flat rice noodle with prawn and chicken soup.
I was more adventurous, I ordered spicy curry noodles.
These were our breakfast. I forgot to take picture of my friend's breakfast.
She ordered a bowl of "pan mee" which is wheat flour noodle with non spicy soup.
My cup of hot coffee.
The place where we had our breakfast.
After breakfast, we returned to our friend's house to wait for her brother.
We will be going in his car to Cameron Highlands.
As our trip is a leisure one, my hubby suggested that we stopped at Lubok Timah Hot Spring on the way to C. Highlands. We passed by this cut hill. None of us have been there before.
There are chalets and hostels for rental.
A replica of a kampung house.
Ample parking space. The place looks clean.
Resting places.
The midday sun was hot.
I should have taken my umbrella!
Hot spring pools.
The water doesn't looks clear. Could be due to siltation upstream?
It was a Monday, and the place was not crowded.
Looks like a nice place but its a pity the water is not clear.
Bathing here can be fun but can be dangerous too.
Waterfall - water overflowing from both sides of an abandoned reservoir/dam once used for tin mining.
We didn't walk all the way to the waterfall, halfway we turned back.
We need to be on our way to Cameron Highlands.
Anyone wants a pony ride?
How nice if they are free to roam about in a bigger space (my thought).
Oil palms .......
Two monkeys chained to the tree.
One is showing its acrobatic act.
Chalets and ice cream stalls.
We took a short rest under a big shady tree, freshen up in the washrooms and continue our journey to Cameron Highlands.
The LORD alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods.
He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields.
He nourished them with honey from the rock
and olive oil from the stony ground.
(Deuteronomy 32:12-13, New Living Translation-NLT)

  4. Oh, breakfast looks a lot like what I would eat for lunch. I really love the hot springs and could spend a whole day in a place like it. The area around it also looks very nice. Have a Happy New Year if I do not read you before then.

  7. Such a pretty place to go down to the water but too bad the water isn't clear. Those people are pretty brave to bath in there.

    Hugs,

  8. Very nice outing. I love the picnic spot if the water is clean & clear. Have been to C. Highlands twice. Lots of beautiful flowers, cactus, veg, strawberries to see. Air is so cooling.

    1. Thank you, Irene. The picnic spot is great, if only the water is clean and clear. Cameron is not as cool as before.

  9. I've never been in a hot spring before. Must be an interesting experience. Yes, I'd be suspicious as to why the water was so dirty...definitely not water I'd want to swim in!

    1. We have to be careful if we are to swim in this waterfall water. Sometimes if there is heavy downpour upstream, there will be sudden rush of water which can be very dangerous.

  20. It's been ages since I have been to Cameron Highlands. The last time I was there, I thought it was quite warm, not so cooling like the time when I was small.

    1. Phong Hong, you are right. Cameron Highlands is no longer as cooling as before. Too much clearance for development. We can only feel the coolness when it is night.
