Dinner With A Longtime Friend

Sometime last month, a longtime friend came to visit and stayed overnight in our house. We made a dinner appointment with another friend to meet us at the restaurant.
It was a wet evening after a heavy downpour.
Our dinner appointment was at 8.30 pm.
Chinese tea was served in these pretty cups.
We ordered a deep fried senangin or threadfin fish.
Its been a long time since I last tasted this.
A plate of stir fried roasted pork.
Stir fried belacan kangkong or water spinach with prawn paste.
And our favourite - Chinese minced pork with salted fish patty.
A 4 dishes dinner for 4 people/friends.
This is my favourite, plain white rice porridge to go with the above savoury dishes.
This shop only opens in the evening from 6 pm onwards.
For those interested, the address is at:
A-7, Jalan Dato Tahwil Azar, 30300 Ipoh.
Tel: 05-2557642 (Off day not fixed)
And we were blessed with these home grown fruits from our friend's garden.
5 Ciku or Chikoo fruits. I think it is called Sapodilla fruit in English.
And 1 big custard apple fruit, about 5 inches diameter!
I took some seeds to germinate, hope to plant this in my garden.

For though we have never yet seen God,
when we love each other God lives in us,
and His love within us grows ever stronger.

  11. The plate of stir fry roasted pork would be my pick and I would love to taste those exotic fruits. When you're in good company, you can forget the grey wet weather outside.
    Have a great weekend.
