Little Critters In My Garden.

Few months back, I mentioned that my Bauhinia plants had suffered heat stroke (here) and I almost balded the whole plant from the dried leaves and branches. It was so miserable looking then. Praise the Lord! Now my Bauhinia plants are back to their lush growth and have started to exhibit their bright, striking blooms once again.
The dragon fly came back to visit.
My revived Bauhinia plants are now growing healthily and blooming away!
A small butterfly or moth on the underside of my Kaffir lime leaf or Limau Purut (in Malay).
One morning I spotted a new critter on my Cup of God vine outside my gate.
Its a lone black slender ant.
This type of grasshopper is a regular visitor. It loves to visit my Cup of Gold vine.
Maybe it was searching for gold since this is called Cup of Gold vine!
Or is it because it loves to chew the juicy leaves?
This was how my Cup of Gold vine looked like which I did a post on it (here).
Now it has grown double its height.
I have to tie the branches to a pole to prevent it from growing in all direction.
If left on their own, the branches will all go their own ways.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
(Isaiah 53:6, NIV)

  14. The Cup of God vine sounds like a prosperity tree. Is this a popular plant to buy for CNY, Nancy? Just curious.

    1. Oops! Sharon, it was a typing mistake. Its not God but Gold, it is Cup of Gold. No, it is not a prosperity tree as far as I know.

  29. Your Bauhinia has recovered nicely Nancy. The flowers on the cup of Gold vine are so beautiful. I was only saying to my Wife the other day that we rarely see Grasshoppers here in our area of Tasmania nowadays. I remember years ago if walked through long grass that Grasshoppers would be jumping all over the place. I wonder what has happened to them all...

    1. Thank you, Tony. I too used to see lot of dragonflies but now very seldom. Could it be due to development and the clearing of natural habitation?

  30. But grasshoppers are pests right? And butterflies are pretty but they lay eggs which hatch into caterpillars which eat up the plants...

    1. Hi Stacy, yes grasshoppers are pests and they chewed my plants. Caterpillars too can destroy my small plants overnight! But we all love butterflies. This is nature.....
