Ho Po Lei Cha For Brunch At Jeram.

On Tuesday, 15th March we started our drive to Jeram at about 10.30 am. We were going to try out Jeram's authentic Ho Po Lei Cha (vegetarian rice).
Here's our driver for that day and I was the back passenger.
We reached Jeram in less than half an hour. This is part of Jeram town near the market.
Part old and part new building.
I love this spacious place. I would love to explore more of the town.
 Here are the food stalls.
The wet market stalls are just next to the food stalls.
Surprisingly, it was quite clean and not smelly at all.
We noticed only a few stalls were opened.
Someone had found a table and busy taking snapshots.
This was our target. Kedai Nasi LeiCha QingJie.
Gerai No. M-7, Gerai MDKS, 31850 Jeram.

One of my friends did the ordering of our brunch.
Ho Po Lei Cha of Jeram. Just look at all the goodies covering the rice.
With a bowl of herbal soup.
We had 2 sets of Lei Cha (Vegetarian/Herbal Rice).
My friends also ordered a bowl of sweet sour soup with noodles. This was really good and appetizing. We wouldn't mind dropping by for this noodles again.
After our brunch, we took a short drive around Jeram.
We may make another trip to try out the food here.

Did you see something that looks like a giant grasshopper? It is a basket ball net stand.

and its people are like grasshoppers.

and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

  5. Lei cha, healthy Hakka dish but unfortunately, I am not fond of it. Give me the sweet sour soup noodles anytime & I would be the most happy one.

    1. Hello Irene, I understand that not everyone is fond of Lei Cha because of its "green" taste of the soup. I didn't like it on my first try but after that I liked it and I don't mind having it once in a while. I would say the sweet sour soup would appeal to many!

  8. The bowl of goodies covering the rice looks a lot like a Vietnamese dish I love to eat. I like the photos of the area of town too. It looks like it might be less hectic in that area though the pics might be deceptive ;-)

  9. Hakka Ho Poh. I am one. Hakka clan also have few different dialect and Ho Poh is one of them. Most Hakka in Kuching speaks Ho Poh.

Lui cha is good for detox and fiber but if I am to choose, I would go for the sweet sour soup. Better for my tastebuds. Haha.
