Chicken & Mutton Curry Rice At Restoran & Hotel New Lee Kong.

Time really flies and it was Sunday morning once again. I woke up around 8 am this morning, got ready and we drove to our friend's shop for breakfast before church. I had a cup of hot black coffee and 2 pieces of toasted bread with butter and jam. Hubby who doesn't like bread, had a plate of chee cheong fun (steamed flat rice noodle) and a glass of iced black coffee.

After church, hubby told me that he felt like eating curry rice and I replied, "let's go!" Its been a long, long time we have not been to this place. If hubby had not mentioned this place, I would have totally forgotten about it.
This was our Sunday lunch - Indian curry rice.
Hubby used to patronize this Indian rice stall when he was studying in Ipoh more than 40 over years ago. And this same old stall is still operating its business until today! The food is still good and the price still very reasonable.
Hubby and I requested for 2 sets of small portion white rice. The rice and accompaniments came in a rectangular plate that looks like banana leaf.
Our preferred curry gravy. There are fish, chicken or dhall curry gravy to choose from.
Our side orders - mutton curry & dry and spicy chicken.
Close up of Mutton curry - the meat very tender.
Close up of the dry & spicy chicken - our favourite!
If I am not mistaken, our lunch costs us about MYR 11.00 (2.69 USD).
This is where we had our lunch - Restoran & Hotel New Lee Kong, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, formerly Anderson Road. (It is back to back the Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet at Jalan Dato' Onn Jaafar, the former Cockman Street).

O my people, listen to my teaching.
Open your ears to what I am saying.
For I will show you lessons from our history,
stories handed down to us from former generations.
I will reveal these truths to you so that you can describe
these glorious deeds of Jehovah to your children and
tell them about the mighty miracles he did.
(Psalm 78:1-4, The Living Bible-TLB)

  1. I love Indian curry too. Took a lot of the chicken curry when I were studying in Nilai many years ago and I grew fatter because of it! Lol.

But I do miss Indian curry.

    1. When we eat curry, we tend to take a lot of white rice to go with the curry and that the reason we put on weight. Lol!

  14. The front of the building is very pretty. And your small portions are quite large, too. They are very generous! It is lunch time Sunday afternoon now, and we have just eaten fried eggs and coffee.

  18. I would certainly rather eat there than at the KFC. (It is sort of sad to me that US fast food is everywhere -- it is not the best). Your lunch looks wonderful; I would guess that I'd prefer the chicken.
