It all started with a phone conversation in the afternoon. Then the opposite side suggested going out together for dinner. The more the merrier and also we can order more dishes to try. We had a few places in mind and finally we decided on driving all the way to Gopeng. We were still quite full from our lunch, so we planned dinner to be about 8 pm.
It was a lovely evening when we drove out to pick up our friends.
It was a leisure drive from Ipoh to Gopeng. We reached just 2 minutes to 8 pm.
Our first visit was about a year ago. Click here to see what we ordered. There was a 2nd trip but no post to show because the photos didn't turned up well.
About 10 minutes later this recommended cold dish was served.
Its pig's trotter, with a layers of meat, fat and skin.
It was served with sweet and sour dippings. It was very appetizing.
It was followed by this stewed fish head with bitter melon cooked with preserved black beans dish.
This is the same dish taken from a different angle to show the deep fried fish head pieces.
Our favourite dish, steamed yam and pork belly with fermented red bean curd (wu tau kau yoke).
4 types of beans fried with spicy prawn paste (sambal belacan).
(stinky beans, long beans, okra or ladies fingers and 4 angled beans)
Dinner inclusive of rice and Chinese tea = MYR 66.40

Wisdom is far more valuable than gold and glass.
It cannot be bought for jewels mounted in fine gold.
Coral or crystal is worthless in trying to get it;
its price is far above rubies.

Yum yum.
