It was time for the Golden Girls to meet up again! We agreed to meet up at our usual meeting place and from there we proceed to Aeon Big. Our lunch venue for that day was Sakae Sushi. Why Sakae Sushi? Its because I had a Sakae Sushi's cash voucher worth MYR 15 given to me when I signed up as a new Aeon member on its opening day. Not wanting to waste the voucher, I suggested to the Golden Girls to have lunch at Sakae Sushi.
The four of us agreed to order 2 main sets and a few add-ons for us to share. None of us were interested in anything raw. We were interested only in the cooked items. First, we ordered a specially designed set for us to savour a variety of tastes. The first set were made up of the following:-

1.1. Breaded chicken cutlet.
1.2. Japanese curry gravy.
1.3. Grilled scallop with mentaiko mayo.
1.4. Some kind of curd or pudding which I can't remember...??
1.5. A bowl of miso soup (left).
1.6. A bowl of rice with some kind of topping.

3 Golden Girls chose hot green tea and 1 chose iced green tea.

Might have missed it but I have the photo of the assorted tempura.
We enjoyed this, so we ordered an extra plate of assorted tempura.

Besides the 2 main sets, we ordered the following add-ons.
We ordered 2 sets (12 pieces) of Kappa Maki-Japanese cucumber.
These went well with the pickled ginger shown below.

2 sets (4 pieces) Chuka Mekabu Gunkan - seasoned seaweed.
Squid or cuttlefish in some kind of sauce - very tasty!

Kimchi Horenso Maki - kimchi, Japanese spinach, cherry tomato.
We would not have taken these had we known kimchi was included because we do not know how to enjoy kimchi. To complete our lunch, we ordered ice-cream!
1 vanilla gelato & 1 coffee gelato for us to taste.

DeleteI go to Sakae all the time as my girl likes the place. They seem to have vouchers and promos going on ALL the time. Guess that's how they lure repeat customers.

DeleteNice fences, the hedge makes for a pretty natural fence. Very interesting variety of food. Some looked tasty, others (like seaweed) wouldn't be something I'd eat.
