Dinner For 4 At Restoran Kristal Jade, Gopeng.

We have been introducing our friends to the restaurants in Lawan Kuda and now to one in Gopeng. So far, my friends are very happy and satisfied with the food they have sampled. So once again, we were on our way to Gopeng and this round, the restaurant is Restoran Crystal Jade, Taman Gopeng Jaya, Gopeng. We ordered the following 3 dishes for 4 people. It is good to remind ourselves not to order too much food.
Steamed Fresh Water Fish with black beans.
"3 Cups" Chicken with ginger cubes.
Fiddlehead ferns stir fried with spicy prawn paste.
(Sambal belacan paku pakis)
In the midst of our dinner, someone challenged his wife to eat "lai fun" noodles after our dinner and the wife took up the challenge. We were game and sporting to join in. Good thing, we only took small portion rice! Saves us a trip. No need for another trip just to try the "lai fun" noodles.

We wanted our friends to try the "lai fun" noodles at the food stalls behind the Restoran Kristal Jade but too bad, the "lai fun" was sold out. So we went to the one on the same row as Restoran Kristal Jade, shop #295.
We were there at about 7.25 pm and they were not ready for business yet.
We were told to take our seats and will inform us when they are ready. Business starts about 8.00 pm.
Crispy deep fried goodies and pieces of bean curd.
Meat balls and stuffed okra (ladies fingers).
The chili sauce is a must have.
We ordered 4 bowls of "lai fun" noodles, which is actually rice noodles.
Sad to say, the taste and quality were not as good as before.
In less than 2 hours, we had 2 rounds of dinner!
Our tummies were full but not yet up to the brim!
We may be seniors but never too old to enjoy some fun doing crazy things and have a good laugh at ourselves!

  17. I always think 'lai fun' should be slightly translucent or it will be too floury. :) You seniors do seem to have a good time, all the time!

    1. Thank you, Stacy. This is the rice "lai fun" which is not translucent. They are not same as the laksa "lai fun" which is translucent.
