From Penang To Ipoh - A Short Visit To Taiping.

Travelling from Penang back to Ipoh, we made a short visit to Taiping. Our friends wanted to visit a relative in Taiping town. Before that we stopped at Antong Coffee Mill, tasted their coffee and bought some coffee. After that, we drove on to Taiping town.
Antong Coffee Mill - the oldest coffee mill since 1933.
Notice the chain link fence behind the giant cup?
Taiping's market, consisting of 2 markets built separately.
The first was built in 1884 and the second was built in 1885.
Can you see the fence around the market?
A back alley behind shop houses.
After visiting our friends' relative, we walked over to a nearby shop for lunch.
Even though it was early about 11.30 am, business was good. We ordered chicken rice, popiah (wrapped spring rolls) and drinks for lunch. I got myself distracted and ended up without any photos of what we ate for lunch.
I only had the above shark and turtle photos found on the wall of the shop.
While walking back to our car, I passed by this shop and the above caught my attention.
"A loving old couple"
We stopped at a shop we passed by to buy some freshly fried banana fritters.
More fence photos for Good Fences.
These fence shots were taken at the ferry jetty and the last one on the ferry.

Linking to Good Fences.

You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,
O God our Savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth,
even those who sail on distant seas.
(Psalm 65:5, New Living Translation-NLT)

  6. Interesting photos to view and good fences along the scenes… nice coffee cup and the Taiping market looks traditional apt. to its ages of built. Lovely shot on the bouquet display. Visiting your blog is like leaning about your country and checking detail aspects of the places u live.

  11. Looks like "Antony" instead of "Antong". :)

I remember that shop is famous for something. Or was it for the goreng pisang stall near it.
