Once in a while I will cook whenever I feel like cooking. There was one particular morning when I suddenly have the desire to cook braised pork in soy sauce. I had to use up the 2 potatoes and an egg, so I conveniently added them into the braised pork. If I don't use them, the egg will continue to sit in the fridge and very soon the potatoes will start to sprout shoots.
This is my version of Braised Pork in soy sauce with egg and potatoes.
Plain blanched Malabar Spinach, freshly harvested from my garden.
We had steamed rice with these two dishes.

There was another evening when we had a simple dinner at home. Our dinner consisted of "otak-otak" and sweet potato leaves.
Took out the packet of frozen "prawn otak-otak" from the freezer.
Instead of heating up the oven, I steamed the "otak-otak" together with the rice.
There is plenty of prawns in the "otak-otak".
I only had to cook this stir-fried sweet potato leaves with garlic and salt to taste. We had steamed rice with these two dishes. Looks like my cooking is getting simpler because I am getting lazier. Lol!

For he has rescued us out of the darkness
and gloom of Satan's kingdom
and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,
who bought our freedom with his blood and forgave us all our sins.

DeleteI love to eat these dishes. Very tasty though you may say that they are simple but I don't think so, not when I am cooking - these dishes are not simple at all. LOL! I love to eat Malabar Spinach. Is the leaves and stalks a bit smooth and a tiny bit slimy or is that another type of vege?
ReplyDeleteYes, that is the same vege as Malabar Spinach.
