I am back again after a 6 days break from blogging. Hubby and I, and 6 friends went on a 5D4N cruise holiday on the Superstar Libra. It was my first cruise trip from Penang-Port Klang-Langkawi-Phuket-Penang starting on the 13th to 17th March. Together with another family of 4, we started our drive in a 7-seater car from Ipoh at about 11.40 am on the 13th (Tue). Another couple started earlier than us and went on ahead of us in their car to Penang.
Driving on the North-South expressway
It was a bright, sunny day.
We will be stopping for a seafood lunch at Bukit Tambun.
Here is the seafood restaurant. I noticed that it has a new signboard! A noticeable difference from the one shown below.
This was the old signboard when I was here with my ex-colleagues about 9 months ago, in June, 2017.
From the restaurant, we could see fishermen bringing in their cockles harvest.
Fresh cockles - small, edible, marine bivalve mollusc.
Live grouper fishes in the seafood restaurant.
No, we didn't order this fish.
A special dish for the junior, the youngest in our group.
Chinese style steamed egg with water - smooth like tofu custard.
Fried fresh oyster omelette (or chien).
Crispy, crunchy deep fried squids (sotong).
Sweet, sour dipping sauce for the deep fried squids.
Sweet sour mud crabs.
Fried mantou (deep fried Chinese steamed buns).
Best eaten by dipping into the sweet sour sauce of the crab dish.
A very scrumptious lunch for 6 people.
Colourful toll gate - heading towards Penang after the seafood lunch.
Driving on the Penang 1st bridge - 2.45 pm.
We had about 3 hours to spend on Penang island before we head towards the jetty. It was a hot day and we were looking for a nice cool place away from the sun. (Give me some time and I will be visiting and blogs hopping.)
The sun crosses the heavens from end to end,
and nothing can hide from its heat.
God's laws are perfect.
They protect us, make us wise, and give us joy and light.
God's laws are pure, eternal, just.
(Psalm 19:6-9, The Living Bible-TLB)
What a mouthwatering meal! I miss the fresh cockles!
