The following items are found in the National Museum.
Dragon Cannon - shaped like a dragon is well known in Brunei and elsewhere in Borneo.
Copper Water-Container (Cerek)
This was used as currency or for barter trade in Borneo, especially in Sarawak. It is decorated with motifs showing both Chinese and local influence. A dragon is carved one each side of the cerek. The lid has a handle in the shape of an elephant.

They can see that you are a letter from Christ, written by us.
It is not a letter written with pen and ink,

He placed springs in the valleys and

A Personalized Gift Makes A Thoughtful Gift

Most people find it challenging when it comes to choosing the right gift for someone special. If you know the person’s heart desire and if it is within your budget, then getting the gift will be easy. Here are some helpful tips to help you choose a thoughtful gift that will be cherished by the recipient for years to come.

When looking for gifts, try to put yourself in the receiver’s shoes instead of looking from your own perspective because you may be tempted to shop for gifts that you would love to receive.

Even if you can afford, simply buying the most expensive gift may not make the recipient happy. You may want to make a great impression with an expensive gift but it may not work for you. A special gift need not be a large, expensive gift but it is the thought that goes into the gift to make it a relevant gift to the recipient. Even a small thoughtful gift that is wrapped up beautifully makes an impressive gift.
Try to get some clues from the recipient if possible if you have the time and opportunity before shopping for the gift. For a female recipient, take note if they are wearing jewellery or watch because it will give you some idea the type of gift to buy. For someone who wears jewellery such as necklace, an infinity necklace, ring, earrings or bracelet will make a perfect gift. For a male recipient, a watch, cuff links or a locket will be appreciated.
Depending on the occasion, an old classic such as a gold necklace is universally appreciated and valued. Having an 18k Rose Gold Double Name Infinity Necklace personalized with the recipient’s name makes it a perfect gift because it will immediately touches the heart and soul of the person receiving the gift. Gifting this thoughtful and unique necklace accompanied with a beautiful bouquet of the person’s favourite flowers with a personal written note attached will surely capture the person's heart. To wow the special person and make her or him beaming from ear-to-ear, you can get more personalized jewellery gift ideas from any of the personalized jewellery stores.

If you find that jewellery is not practical for the recipient, then you could get a box of chocolate for someone who loves chocolates. For someone who is a tea lover, gifts such as assorted teas, tea biscuits, a beautiful tea mug and a good quality honey will be the perfect way to touch the person’s heart.

For someone who loves reading, a good book by his or her favourite author will be well received and appreciated. Whatever the gift, always add a little extra touch to it by writing a card or a little note to make it more personal and meaningful.

Watercress Soup & Taro With Dried Shrimp For Dinner

It was a Monday morning and we went for our morning walk.
Took a snapshot of this lovely sunrise at 6:55 am.
After our walk, we drove to the Main Post Office to send a letter. My old car refused to start and we had to call the mechanic. Since we had to wait for him, we walked over to the stalls next to the clock tower for breakfast.
Clock Tower in Ipoh old town.
This clock tower looks good after a face lift.
The clock is working, so the time was 9:00 am.
The mechanic managed to get the car started for us to get home after which it was sent to the workshop. That evening, we had a simple home cooked dinner.
Our favourite dish - Taro cooked with dried shrimp.
Soup - watercress boiled with pork ribs, carrot and red dates.
This was our dinner without rice.
One of my 4 Betta or Siamese fighting fishes.
Indian bread or Roti Canai with spicy sambal.
This was our supper at our regular coffeeshop that evening after an early dinner.
Gold fishes and water feature at an old folks nursing home.
This inspired me to restart our gold fish project.
I started out with 3 small gold fishes and now there are 5 in this mini pond.
Once they get accustomed to their new home, they will come to the water surface with their mouth open wide whenever I go near. Gold fishes have good appetite.

Haven't you yet learned that your body is the home
of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you?
Your own body does not belong to you.

Home Cooked Stewed Vegetables & Grilled Eggplants.

Thank God for another new day to experience His goodness and love. Thank God for His compassion for they are new everyday.
The beginning of a new day - 6:58 am.
Changing colours in the sky - 6:59 am.
 7:00 am
The sun rising from behind the cloud - 7:30 am
 7:38 am
Multi-petals yellow hibiscus in my garden.
I found out from the internet that it is known as "Crown of Bohemia".
My hibiscus are doing well and blooming in the warm weather.
I bought these dark purple eggplants from a roadside stall at the park.
I wanted to try something new - grilled eggplants.
I sliced open the eggplants and stuffed them with pre-cooked minced meat and garlic. In future, I will used a spicy filling e.g. sambal dried shrimp to give it extra oomph.
I had carrot, pumpkin, fresh mushrooms, potatoes, and some long beans and chilies from my garden. I dumped everything into a pot to make stewed vegetables. Actually, I enjoyed the stewed vegetables so much that I ate most of it.
To use up the 3 eggs in the fridge, I made onion and egg omelette. We managed to finish everything without eating any rice.
My hibiscus are happily blooming in these bright sunny days.

Praise the Lord!
For all who fear God and trust in him are blessed beyond expression.
Yes, happy is the man who delights in doing his commands.

Neen Koh Fritters For Lunch & Spicy Dishes For Dinner

There was a heavy downpour yesterday afternoon and looks like it will be the same today. Dark clouds are now looming outside and I can hear raindrops on the awning roof. Hoping for another heavy downpour to cool down the temperature.
The day started with this morning sky at 7:00 am.
Later at midday, our friends invited us to join them for lunch.
We went to Pasir Pinji to look for the deep fried neen koh snack.
We need to place order for the "neen koh" (deep fried sticky glutinous cake) first and return to collect in about an hour's time. Meanwhile we went to the nearby food court "tai shu keok" (under the big tree) for a light lunch.
At the food court, we bought some deep fried crunchy snack "kacang putih" from a stall.
This is how the neen koh looks like. The center is the sticky glutinous rice cake (melted), sandwiched between a piece of sweet potato and taro (yam). These are then dipped into flour batter and deep fried. These are very addictive and I can eat a few pieces at a time.
Small purple flowers from my garden.

We had an early dinner to avoid the crowd at Restaurant Mun Ji in Menglembu. Hubby wanted the fish head curry again.
Since there were only two of us, we thought of ordering just one small pot of fish head curry.
But when hubby heard that they had stinky beans, he couldn't resist ordering a small plate. In the end, we finished the stinky beans and packed home the remaining fish head curry for next day's dinner.
Evening sky after we returned from our dinner at 7:14 pm.
The evening was still warm even after the heavy downpour.
