Our friend wanted to eat porridge for dinner and we could only think of Restaurant Fay Loo. We were not able to get a table the first time because it was fully packed. The second time was a normal week day, so we were able to get a table for 4 people. We ordered the following dishes to go with rice or porridge. That evening, everyone chose porridge.
Fried egg omelette.
Fried minced meat with salted fish.
Fried black pomfret fish with salted vegetables and chili.
Sauteed water spinach with belacan (prawn paste)
Sweet and sour garlic condiment.
Plain rice porridge.
With the above dishes, I alone can eat 2 bowls of porridge.
Total dinner costs RM 83.80 for 4 people.
For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus.
He showed us God's plan of salvation;
he was the one who made us acceptable to God;
he made us pure and holy and gave himself to purchase our salvation.
(1 Corinthians 1:30, The Living Bible-TLB)
All the dishes look good.

DeleteI have a problem with salt. I can't have it so with all the great food that you show, can I even eat this great food that you show Nancy? Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
The rice porridge is plain without any salt, so I think you will have no problem with it.
DeleteYour rice porridge reminds me of our grits...they are from corn. And I so love them...with crisp bacon.
ReplyDelete...I like rice puddy, I don't know if it's the same.
DeleteThank you, Rose. I think the difference is the grain used. Crisp bacon would taste great with porridge too.
DeleteThank you, Tom. I think it is more or less the same.
DeleteThe omelet looks really yummy! A crowded place usually assures you of very good food.

DeleteA porridge dinner does sound good. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. Happy New Year!
DeleteI'd rather have the last 2 dishes with rice. Somehow don't like sauces with porridge unless it's soy-based.
ReplyDeleteEven with sauce, the taste is great for porridge.
