Steamed Enoki Mushroom & Pumpkin With Dried Prawns

While waiting to harvest the vegetables from my garden, I will buy some vegetables from the mini market after my early morning walk. I have used up all the home grown vegetables in my fridge except for one white bitter gourd. It is too small to cook a dish on its own. So I came up with my own recipe, and a weird one too! If my mother comes to know about it, she will shake her head in disbelief. Imagine adding bitter gourd to a pumpkin dish - a combination of sweet and bitter!

I love pumpkin because it is sweet. I don't know what to do with a tiny bitter gourd, so I just simply add to this pumpkin dish. No worry, as long as I am the one eating it.
 Steamed Enoki Mushrooms
(Sprinkled with lots of fried garlic crisps, garlic oil, spring onion, scallop sauce and soy sauce)
 Chinese Cabbage Soup
(cooked with all the little of whatever I didn't used up, and needed to be cleared from the fridge)
My simple dinner cooked with impromptu recipes using whatever ingredients I can find in my fridge.
Lovely morning at the park after a heavy downpour.
 Sunset Bells from my garden.
The flowers and leaves are still wet with rain water.

  1. I love your creativity when it comes to cooking: doing your your recipe with out fear of conforming. That's how new innovative food gets discovered:) I would be happy if you invite me to sit down with you to taste it all - any time, if only it's possible:) Have a lovely day today Nancy:)

  2. ...recently I visited an Amish home of the daughter was using old irons that she warms on the wood stove. Sometimes things don't change much. Thanks Nancy for stopping by, enjoy this special time of year.

    1. The old irons that need to be warmed on stove must be before my time. I have only used those which need to be filled with burning coal.

  3. I am thankful I do not have to iron with one of those antique irons. That would not be fun at all.

  13. The Sunset Bells are stunning! They are the color of sunset. I don't think they grow in this country. Well, pumpkins are gourds, so the dish seems right!

  15. The taste of your food only has to please you..it's how new foods are invented by people experimenting.
Do like your flower and those old irons are similar if not the same to the old ones we have had here in the past.
