Home Cooked Dinner For 1st Day Of Chinese New Year 2020

I don't know about other places but here in Ipoh, it is terribly hot. For the past few days, I hardly ventured out of my house unnecessarily. The air conditioners in our rooms are working overtime and the fans are full blast throughout the day.
 The heat is causing the leaves of my Sunset Bells to turn yellowish.

Even in this heat, I still cooked and sweated in my kitchen. Free suana bath for me. I am grateful for the little fan in my kitchen. We had the following dishes for dinner on the 1st day of CNY 2020.
 Steamed mid-portion of a big Snapper Fish brought back by elder son.
Very seldom do we get to enjoy really fresh fish.
 Deep fried fish paste+diced prawns+minced meat+chopped shallots balls. So tasty that we didn't need any dipping sauce.
 Leftover of the stewed chicken claws with napa cabbage and mushrooms. When left overnight, it tasted more flavourful.
 Simple sauteed home grown long beans (dwarf long beans+snake long beans) with garlic.
Happy Chinese New Year!
May this year brings you more opportunities and success.
May your days be filled with love, joy, and peace.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce
this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control;
(Galatians 5:22-23, The Living Bible-TLB)

  6. Happy Chinese New Year....the food looks delicious. I always wonder how we managed before any air conditioning at all! I remember as a child sleeping with my pillow/head laying in a window to get any air movement that I possibly could.

    1. Those days we managed with electric fans or hand held fans. The weather seems to be warmer now than before.
