Simple Meals & Snack On Day #101 MCO

We were looking forward to our morning walk when we woke up yesterday morning but have to cancel it because we could hear the pitter patter of rain on the roof awning. So I ended up preparing breakfast in the kitchen.
Hubby had 2 half boiled eggs, burger, Taiwan garlic sausages and Nescafe. I had oat porridge with pine nuts, walnut chunks, cranberry and Nescafe.
A friend gave me a guava. I sliced and pickled it with salted plum or assam boi.

Home Cooked Dinner
Stewed pork belly with red fermented bean curd (nam yue).
Steamed home grown white eggplants and snake long beans. Drizzled with olive oil, oyster and soy sauce and chili oil.
A friend gave these sweet potatoes. So instead of oat porridge, I had steamed sweet potatoes. It may sound weird that I ate sweet potatoes with savoury dishes for dinner but I enjoyed it.
Simple home cooked dinner for 2 people.

I was having breakfast with a friend one morning and my eyes caught something swimming in a big fish tank in the coffee shop.
Can someone identify this?
When I went near to take a closer look, this water pet swam towards me.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

Turn me away from wanting any other plan than yours.
Revive my heart toward you.

  4. No, it is not weird at all that you ate sweet potatoes with savoury dishes for dinner. I would do that too. Love your oats porridge with nuts for breakfast. The sea turtle looks so sweet. Is it legal to have sea turtle as pets? Are they a protected species?

  12. Hi Nancy. Last night we had a doozy of a storm. Thunder, lightning and wind that moved my chairs around on the deck. One of my little trees was knocked over. The wind knocked down some of my big bushes. What was amazing was that I slept through the entire storm. I wore these eye things and they put me to sleep. Relaxfull. LOL Have a great day my friend.

  13. This is some kind of turtle. Not a simple meal at all, so many courses! I usually only fix one thing. I cannot make so many things at one time, or bad things happen!

    1. I try not to cook too many dishes because it is only for 2 people. I like one dish meals, easy. less stress and less work.

  18. The turtle is a presumably a pet and not bound for the cooking pot.

Well guess once you start swapping rice with other things, you can accept more options.

    1. Very likely a pet. I am not a very fussy eater so I have more options.
