Teochew Porridge With Fried Fish & Diced Snake Bean For Dinner

We had to cancel yesterday's morning walk because it was drizzling. We had a simple breakfast at home. Hubby ate bread with coconut jam (kaya). while I had oat porridge. I made 2 cups of Nescafe and that was all for breakfast.
Later in the morning, a friend called up to ask us to collect mangoes from her house. She blessed us with the above mangoes and a bar of dark chocolate.
Hubby went out on his motorbike to buy a packet of rice with roast pork and bbq stuffed intestine. I taxed 3 spoonfuls because it looked delicious.

Home cooked dinner
A savoury dish consists of home grown snake long beans, preserved radish (choy poh), green chilies, dried prawns, taucu (preserved fermented soy bean) and garlic.
Fried black pomfret with ginger strips, soy sauce and oil.
And sambal belacan with lime juice condiment.
Our simple Teochew dinner for 2 people.
This dog keeps vigil in front of one of our regular coffee shop, both day and night.

Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.

  2. Oh mine. I am drooling at your fried pomfret and long beans dish, simple yet very delicious. Both steamed or fried pomfret i also like. If the skin of the fried fish is crispy, wow it would be so satisfying and i can imagine the flesh being fresh and tender.

  19. That's a lot of mangoes you were blessed with!

Your veg dish is way more than the fish haha. I normally wouldn't have much in this style since the preserved radish is salty.
