We were having our morning walk at the lake park with our friends when we saw a white egret beside the walking track. We stopped to take snapshots of the white egret.
It is not often we get to see a white egret in our area.
It was all alone by itself, walking beside the lake causing some walkers to slow down to watch.
I managed to take a short video of the white egret.
Hibiscus: home grown yellow hibiscus and dark pink hibiscus by the roadside.
Just in time to harvest this big fig from my garden. Even after wrapping the figs with plastic, the birds could still get at my figs and ate a few before I could harvest them. Now, I have to compete with the birds for my home grown figs.

Home cooked dinner.
My elder son was back for the weekend.
Stewed pork (collar meat) with chopped ginger, garlic, oyster and soya sauce, and Chinese cooking wine.
Onion omelette
I steamed the remaining 3 white pomfrets (palm size), bought from Pantai Remis. I used coarsely chopped ginger, garlic, and onions to steam the fishes. Once steamed, I drizzled a mixture of oyster & soy sauce and garnished with home grown spring onions.
Linking to Saturday's Critters.
Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net
that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind
When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down,
and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away.

Away From Blue
Thank you, Mica. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteThe egret looks so graceful and elegant in white. I wonder where did the egret come from. Your elder son will be back for how many days? Fish, omelette and meat, all my favourites. You always eat so good and kudos to your efforts for cooking almost everyday.
ReplyDeleteHe only came back for the weekend because he has work to do.
DeleteI hope the egret will be safe. The fig is so very big. Good that your eldest son is back to visit you both. Tasty dinner as always. Does your son eat fish or else you would have to pick clean 3 fish instead of 2?
ReplyDeleteSon help to eat 1 fish.
Besos
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

DeleteWe have lots of egrets here, they are stately birds.
ReplyDeleteHope you get lots of your figs.
It's a wonder your son was willing to leave home, you are such a good cook!
Somehow the birds are smart. Even though I have wrapped the figs, they can still get to it.
DeleteSuch a snow-white bird. It doesn't have any camouflage at all in the grass. Must be no predators.
ReplyDeleteExcept for some stray dogs, no predator around at the park so I think it is safe for the bird.
DeleteSe ve todo muy bien. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
