We went for morning walk but we didn't stop for breakfast because both of our regular coffee shops were closed that morning. We walked home, got into our car and drove out to town for breakfast. The morning was cold and wet and curry noodle seemed to be the best choice for breakfast. We have a few options, but we finally decided on Yee Fatt Tea Shop.
Thick creamy curry covering the noodle, beansprout, bbq pork and chicken. This is my messy curry noodle. Some like us love this curry noodle but there are others who dislike it.
Very satisfying breakfast. Messy curry noodle with Chinese herbal tea. Did you notice the bowl of curry soup on the right? This is the first time they serve this without us requesting for it. We found out that it is given free. For those who finds the curry gravy too thick for them, they can use dilute it with this curry soup or drink it if you want to. Very thoughtful of them.

Flower crabs for my late lunch.
I bought 2 flower crabs from the roadside stall on my morning walk. I simply steamed it with ginger strips and spring onions. I ate these 2 crabs for my late lunch. Hubby doesn't like flower crabs so he went out to get his own lunch.

Mickey mouse flowers (Ochna serrulata)
(from a roadside plant)
Saw this young grasshopper on the gate pillar in front of my house.
It didn't fly away even though I was standing very close to it.
This is one of the pests feeding on the leaves of my hibiscus plants.
Yesterday evening, I found these tiny "aliens" feeding on the leaves of my miniature hibiscus plant. Don't these baby grasshoppers look like "aliens" with their big black eyes?

The crabs i eat are usually sri lanka crabs
ReplyDeleteSri Lanka crabs very popular in Singapore. I have tasted it when I visited Singapore many years ago. Here, as long as the crabs are fresh, I am happy to enjoy.
DeleteNever seen a mickey mouse flower before, how interesting and glad you found the culprit eating your plant.
ReplyDeleteYes, many tiny culprits.

Thank you, Eileen. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2021 to you and family.
DeleteI miss those crabs! My brother made them with satay sauce and it was so delicious.

DeleteThe curry dish sounds delicious and I love any kind of crabs. Hope you were able to get those weird little creatures off your Hibiscus, it looks like they were having quite the feast!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. The tiny creatures have already started their festive feasting on my hibiscus. Lol!
DeleteThe curry sounds delicious and so thoughtful to add the curry sauce as a side to dilute the main meal. Yummy to the crabs, delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mamas.
Delete...the crab would be my favorite!
ReplyDeleteIt is my favourite too.
DeleteI would like this curry noodles. So did you all drink all the curry soup? I would not feel good to leave the curry soup since it is given to me in good will foc.
ReplyDeleteI used a bit to add to the thick curry gravy and I quite like it. Not to my liking if to drink it on its own.
DeleteThe tiny bb grasshoppers are God's miracles of creation and life. So tiny yet so alive! Did you leave them be? Let them feast on the leaves to grow bigger?
ReplyDeleteI just let them be, let it be their festive feasting. Lol!
DeleteIt must take so much effort to eat the flower crabs since I think they have more shells than meat, right?
ReplyDeleteNo much effort because the shells are quite soft to break. The crabs were quite meaty and with lots of crab roe. I really enjoyed the crabs.
DeleteLos saltamontes están felices en tu hibiscus. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteThe food looks interesting. That's a lot of tiny grasshoppers munching away. Must have hatched nearby. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first time I found baby grasshoppers feasting on my plants. Mama grasshoppers like to hatch their eggs in my garden.
DeleteRecipe? Looks yummy

DeleteI love hubby didn't like what you cooked so he went out and got his own. Sounds like our house.
ReplyDeleteLol! That is the usual case in most household.
DeleteWow, I've never seen flowers like this. I like the red plates and bowls. The color red stimulates our big appetite, that is why so many food places use it. The grasshopper's EYES!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. Red for the Chinese is "ong" meaning prosperity.
DeleteI never taste of creamy curry noodle.... look delicious.... I should try it one day.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Thank you, Tanza. Hope you will like ti. Have a happy weekend.
DeleteDoesn't every crab taste great? I love all shrimp, small & large, lobster, oysters, snails, octopus & squid etc. I'm getting hungry Nancy.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Thank you, Paul. I love seafood too.
DeleteI love curry of any kind. Those bugs eating your plant look alien, but how sad that they are ruining your plant.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi. The little aliens are making holes in the leaves.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo-Anne.
DeleteWow, delicious flower crab dish ..., and the bonus is getting the free soup again.

ReplyDeleteYes, the little bugs do almost look like aliens.
Thank you, Mimi. Have a good new week.
DeleteGreat review and beautiful photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elena.
DeleteFood looks delicious. I don't like it when bugs eat my plant leaves. I've found that thieves household cleaner works well for getting insects from eating plants. Its something I get from Young Living. It kills spiders in my house. Have a very merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grandma Beckyl. I will try using some cleaner solution to spray and see if it works. Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year 2021 to you and family.
DeleteCool Mickey mouse flowers :) Also the grasshopper. But not the ones eating leaves...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Villrose.
DeleteAgree the 'eyes' on the baby grasshoppers make them look like aliens!
ReplyDeleteOh don't flower crabs normally have less-firm meat?
Depending on the season, sometimes flower crabs have less firm meat. I am glad the crabs have quite firm meat.
