Beef Tripe Noodle (Ngau Lam Fun), Popiah & Papaya

This was first day of February. We walked home after our morning walk because dine-in was not allowed then because of MCO.

The moon was still visible at 7:10am.
On the opposite side (east), the sky is brightening up.
Sunrise at 7:11am
We can still see the moon at 7:12am.

Hubby and I went out in our car to buy breakfast. We wanted to buy Hakka noodle but the shop was closed that morning. We ended at Pusat Makanan Tai Hwa at Jalan Dato Tahwil Azar, Ipoh.
We bought beef tripe noodles, 1 big piece of tofu and 1 stuffed bean curd sheet with yam bean. I had separate tiffin containers for the noodles and the soup.
After making the hot drinks (white coffee), I poured the soup onto the noodles.
Besides the beef tripe noodle, we each had half a big stuffed tofu, and a piece of fried yam bean in bean curd sheet. We haven't eaten beef tripe noodle since MCO 2.0 started. It was a hearty breakfast and it lasted us till dinner time.

Simple dinner from the evening market.
Hubby went to the evening market and he brought back 2 packets of food. On the right was 2 spring rolls (popiah) and some fried items on the left, to be eaten with the peanut sauce. The cut papaya was from my fridge (papaya given by neighbour).
This is the first time hubby and I tasted the above. I don't know what it is called. Hubby was curious when he saw customers queuing at the stall, so he too bought some to try.
Spring rolls (popiah).
Chilled cut papaya.
Simple and yummy dinner for 2 people.

The following photos were taken when I was waiting for hubby outside the pomelos shop.
White duranta-erecta flowers.
Golden duranta-erecta berries. The plants are grown as ornamental plants. Many do not know that the plants, flowers and berries are toxic.

But no man has ever demonstrated the ability to tame his own tongue!
It is a spring of restless evil, brimming with toxic poisons.

  2. I love beef tripe! That spring roll looks so good. How sad that those duranta-erecta berries are toxic as they are so pretty and edible.

  9. Oh yummy on the food. There are some places (counties) that you can dine and and other places that it's take out or delivery only. Each county is different.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Nancy. ♥

  18. Such a lovely moon, staying around in the morning, too.

Since the food was something new for you to try, did you enjoy it enough that you will go back?

Lovely flowers and berries, even if they are not edible in any way.

  20. I'm slow, just noticing you're eating directly from the tiffin carrier. Which is a great idea since no need to grapple with plastic bags and pour here and there.

The fried things with peanut sauce seems similar to pasembur.

    1. And also no need to wash extra bowls if I were to pour the noodles into bowls. Yes, something like pasembor.
