This afternoon, we came to know that Ipoh is one of the towns that will be placed under stricter MCO i.e. Enhanced Movement Control Order. This is not surprising because the spike in Covid cases in Ipoh and surrounding areas is worrying and a cause for concern.
Okay, back to today's post. This was 2nd day MCO 3.0.
A simple breakfast: Black coffee and toast.
Coconut jam (kaya) for hubby and strawberry jam for me.

Late morning, a package was delivered to us. We bought a sewing machine motor to be fitted to my old foot pedal sewing machine.
These days, the quality of the leather belts for the foot pedal machine is not as durable as before. So instead of changing leather belts, hubby suggested that we get a motor. The motor and petal are both black in colour.
After hubby has installed the motor, I did a trial run. It will take some time for me to get use to using the motor and also how much pressure to apply to the pedal.

Lunch
Instead of going out to buy lunch, I cooked plain rice porridge.
Pickled vegetable and onion omelette.

Dinner
I cooked black vinegar pork leg using 1 whole pork leg. Once cooked, I divided it into 4 portions and gave 1 portion to our neighbour.
Thankful for a satisfying and delicious dinner.
One morning while walking home, we passed this mango tree laden with mangoes. This bunch of mangoes was just above my head. I love ripe mangoes. Some green mangoes can be very sour.
Can horses run on rocks? Can oxen plow the sea?
Stupid even to ask - but no more stupid than what you do
when you make a mockery of justice and corrupt
and sour all that should be good and right.
(Amos 6:12, The Living Bible-TLB)
Well Nancy, finally a normal breakfast like mine, toast and coffee. LOL Have a wonderful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
I used to have normal breakfast like yours. But hubby won't want to be eating normal breakfast every day. He prefers something savoury.
DeleteLove everything! Looks so delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great day.
DeleteI want some black vinegar pork leg..so nutritious and yummy.
ReplyDeleteBlack vinegar pork leg makes one drool.
Delete...I would love to have a mango tree!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have one too.
DeleteI know how you feel, we have not been out for a meal now for 15 months, welcome to the club!! I am heartily sick of the sight of the kitchen. Love mangoes but the imported ones that we can buy here do just not taste like the ones we used to pick in the garden in South Africa. Avocadoes are the same they do not taste as good.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and stay well, Diane
Thank you, Diane. I know what you mean about the freshly picked fruits tasting better than imported ones. Have a great weekend. Stay safe and healthy.
DeleteWe can go out and eat now. We don't go out much unless we're boating. We had a nice weekend on the boat last weekend and enjoyed a couple of our favorite restaurants. It was nice after so many months of take out only.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥
Glad to know that you can go out now and dine-in the restaurants. Now its our turn to stay home. Have a fabulous weekend.
DeleteWow que imagenes tan bonitas y sugerentes, saludos y feliz semana.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great weekend.
DeleteEverything looks great. Have fun getting the hang of your sewing machine. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. It is like playing with a new toy.
DeleteLove your home cooked food as usual. What brand of vinegar do you use to cook the pork leg? Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I use the brand with a pagoda with 2 lions on each side. It is from Penang. Just one bottle of this black vinegar. The amount of water is up to individual taste and preference. No need to add sweet or sour vinegar. Very convenient.
DeleteOh,thank you for your reply. I will go look for this brand in supermarkets to see can find or not.
DeleteFound it being sold online. Is it Penang Swee On Woh Black Vinegar?
DeleteYes, Mun. That is the one. Just this bottle will save you a lot of work.
DeleteWow! Your husband must be an expert on sewing machines. How does he know that a motor can be used at that spot? So now your pedal controls the motor? How does it work?
ReplyDeleteHubby was working with a sewing machine company many years ago. Very simple. First, plug and switch on the electric power. Place your foot on the pedal and apply pressure on the pedal. The speed will depends on the amount of pressure applied.
DeleteInteresting what you put on your spinach.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi.
DeleteThe news about the movement control order sounds concerning. Stay safe!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yogi. Yes, very concerning indeed.
DeleteAre all the restaraunts closed? Will you be able to eat out anymore?
ReplyDeleteAll restaurants and eateries are allowed to open for take-away only.
DeleteMe encantan los mangos. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteYou cook so many beautiful meals!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi.
DeleteI wonder what my mother would have made of that motor.
ReplyDeleteIt will make her sewing so much easier and faster. Less strain on her legs.
DeleteBreakfast looks very yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a good weekend.
Deletei still prefer the good old foot pedal than motor coz foot pedal have better speed control....Last time i tried the motor pedal, the speed was so fast and i need to carefully step on the pedal 'lightly'.
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right. I was forced to use the motor pedal because the belt for manual foot pedal is not lasting and in the long run it is cheaper to use the motor pedal.
DeleteToast, Vegemite and tea for my breakfast. Yours look good though.
ReplyDeleteMangoes are nice they are exported here to the Island from other parts of Australia where they are grown.
Take care.
Thank you, Margaret. We have both imported and local mangoes here. Take care and stay safe.
DeleteI dont know what we woukd do if we had to go back to no eating out...roger enjoys it so much.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are missing our early morning walk and eating out for breakfast.
DeleteOh, wondering if you have sewing projects in mind.
ReplyDeleteFor the time being, no project in mind. Just some mending or altering work to be done.
DeleteBreakfast for me is banana bread and fruit with a large glass of flavoured milk
ReplyDeleteThat is a healthy and yummy breakfast. Flavoured milk sounds interesting.
DeleteI'm always eyeing bunches of mangoes hanging on the tree like that! I like sour ones with rojak sauce. My hubby refuses to plant mango trees though. Something about it not being lucky. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI used to love sour mangoes but now my teeth cannot take it. I would love to plant a mango tree but I have no space in my garden.
