This was a Sunday in the month of May. We were still under EMCO, no walking and only 1 person allowed to go out to buy essentials.
Morning sky.
Even though it was cloudy, it was a hot and sweaty day.
Hubby went out to buy take away breakfast.
One of our favourite curry noodle, dry version.
Messy with thick curry gravy.
Hubby doesn't like mint leaves, so I ended up having all the mint leaves.
Rice vermicelli with bbq pork and curry chicken.
A friend drove over to our house to bless us with her home grown bananas. We won't be able to finish all by ourselves so we gave some to our neighbour.
~~~~~
Our next door neighbour came back from her essential shopping and blessed us with 2 packs of Nyonya kuih and 2 packs of chee cheong fun.
We ate the Nyonya kuih for lunch. We started with the sago kuih on the right because it had coconut grating. On the right is the tapioca kuih or kuih bingka.
Hibiscus plant with flower buds.
From buds to larger than palm sized yellow hibiscus.
~~~~~
We had Nyonya kuih for lunch so we kept the 2 packs of steamed rice roll (chee cheong fun) for dinner.
The curry and chili sauce were packed separately from the steamed rice roll, stuffed bean curd sheet and fish cake.
Thank God for His blessing through our neighbour who bought us lunch and dinner.
Since I needn't have to cook dinner, I made ginger pickle instead.
Ginger pickle makes great appetizer.

DeleteOOooOOoOOooo Gorgeous Sky! We had a taste of the hots here last week. This week we went into the deep freeze and had snow on the top of the hills a few days ago. Your meals look terrific. And what wonderful neighbors you have! And I LOVE pickled ginger. Its been a while since I have made any.
ReplyDeleteI did take advantage of the cool weather and made rhubarb peach and ginger jam this morning. The Rhubarb is this year's crop from my garden and the peaches are from a friends orchard. I froze them last fall. and the Ginger was fresh from the Chinese market in Kelowna. Have a marvellously happy day!
