There are mornings when the sky is just gray with no sign of sunrise in sight. Then I will be looking for some other interesting things to take snapshots. There is one newly renovated double storey corner house that we used to pass by.
The new owner has planted these decorative trees and grass on this raised up area.

Breakfast
We had steamed buns (from neighbour) for breakfast.
2 buns with bbq pork filling and 2 with chicken curry filling.
These 2 baked buns with bbq pork filling were for mid morning snack.
For lunch, we had Campbell's chicken soup and bun with garlic butter spread.
These corn on cobs were for afternoon snack.
I bought some century eggs and I remember I have pickled ginger in the fridge. Century egg drizzled with a bit of sesame oil is best eaten with pickled ginger.

Home cooked dinner.
Just this dish alone is enough to go with steamed rice.
Sunset at 7:15pm
This lovely sunset made up for the lack of sunrise.
There is one public pay phone booth still standing in front of the row of shop houses. On a closer look, one can see that it is no longer working because the receiver is missing. These days, hardly anyone would use a public pay phone. Almost everyone has a hand phone.

Deletethe Chinese steamed bun has unusual markings....normally it is just one dot, but i see those have multiple small dots.

DeleteYou are right about public telephone being all not used because everyone has a hp now. I forgot to take my hp with me when I went out one day back in year 2015 and I couldn't find a working public phone. ended up I need to borrow the telephone from the customer service in a shopping mall. Luckily they were very kind and let me use their phone. Have you ever forgotten to take your hp out with you and then need to call someone?

DeleteI love to eat century eggs but seldom drizzle them with sesame oil. Just eat them with pickled gingers or pickled onions. How did you cook the sweet sour pork trotters? I see they have like curry sauce or something similar on them. Can share the recipe please? Tq.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fixed recipe. I remember using lots of onions, some garlic, a little ginger, 1 stalk serai, some chilies and process them together in a paste. I also used taucu, assam keping, sugar and salt. My measurement is agak-agak or approx. Actually, I love to add daikon but that day I didn't.
