26th July is finally here! It was the day for my 2nd dose vaccination. Few days earlier, I received an sms notification and also an automated voice call to remind me of my appointment. For my 1st dose at the Indera Mulia Stadium, it took me 3 hours 40 mins because of the big crowd. For my 2nd dose, it was a drive thru at the same place and the whole process took about 1 hour 30 minutes. Some of my friends who went on a different day took only 20 mins to clear the whole process.
Sunrise at 7:12am to start the new day.
It was misty on the Kledang Hill (on the reverse side) at 7:12am.
Morning sky at 7:20am
Still misty on the Kledan hill.
We walked to the Dim Sum Restaurant to buy breakfast.
Crispy and flaky skin with moist filling.
Steamed buns: "san yuk pao" for hubby (left) and "wong chow kai yuk pao" for me (right).
Cut into halves to show the fillings.
We joined the long queue of cars going into the ground of the stadium at about 11:30am. There were 2 queues and we were on the left side.
We passed the 1st check point where my temperature was scanned, checking of my vaccine card and consent form. Now heading towards to 2nd check point.
I had my 1st dose done inside this indoor stadium (Indera Mulia).
Approaching the vaccination booths to receive my 2nd dose.
I was shown the syringe with the amount of vaccine before and after the jab, the empty syringe. By the time we reached home, it was about 1pm. Time for lunch.
I heated up the steamed big bun and fish balls which I bought in the morning and kept aside for lunch.
Yummy fish balls at RM2.50 each.
Steamed big bun (tai pau) at RM6. We shared the big bun.
After lunch and a short rest, I tried to take a short nap.
When I woke up from my nap, hubby reminded me about the spoon experiment. I didn't expected anything but was shocked to see the metal spoon sticking to both my arms with my own eyes! Could this be due to some of our bodies having some kind of static electricity? But one thing I was very sure, the weather was very warm and it could be due to the sweat and sticky arms. Anyone has a better explaination? Or did I become a magnetic woman?
I called to order 3 pairs of fried chicken wing and 1 portion of fried rice.
The portion of fried rice is big and is enough for 2 people.
While hubby went to collect the food, I sauteed napa cabbage and carrot with dried shrimp.
Crispy fried chicken wings.
To end the post, here is a snap shot of an antique cheque writer machine found in the Gopeng Museum.

Update on post vaccination: After 1st jab, I didn't sleep well on the 1st night. After both jabs, there was no tiredness or sleepiness except for the soreness of the arm that was injected.
I received my digital vaccination certificate on MySejahtera app on the same day I completed the 2nd dose.
Many people say, "Who will show us better times?"
Let your face smile on us, LORD.
You have given me greater joy than those
who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
(Psalm 4:6-8, The Living Bible-TLB)
ReplyDeleteI can't get vaccinated right now because of my allergies :(
Do take care. Even after having completed 2 doses, we have to take safety precaution by wearing mask, social distancing and washing ourselves after we return home from our outing to buy essentials.
DeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William.
DeleteSo good food, I got quite hungry of all that.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lillian.
DeleteOh my 2nd dose was also on 26th! I didn't try the spoon thing until now, reading your post. Nope it doesn't stick now. Are you still 'magnetic'?
ReplyDeleteWow drive-through vaccinations, I learnt something today and can see the benefits. Stadium Indera Mulia is in such funky colours now. Used to be just grey in my time.
Sometimes still stick, sometimes no. Probably its the sticky and sweating skin because the weather is really hot and humid here.
Delete...good news about your vaccination, still be careful. The check writing machine is quite a relics from the past. Thanks Nancy for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom. We are still observing all the safety precautions whenever we need to go out of the house especially to buy essentials.
DeleteI really miss some good dimsum...esp. those yam puffs. The fried rice looks great too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. I like the yam puffs from this dim sum restaurant.

ReplyDeleteYour good mood makes me happy. Delicious food :)
Thank you, Lucyna.
DeleteCongrats on getting two doses! Good that you are feeling all ok now. Thank you for showing the drive thru vaccination process. How was the 15 minutes observation carried out? Did you need to park the car there for 15 minutes to wait? Thanks in advance for your reply.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. For the 15 mins observation, we were directed to park accordingly. During that time, can honk if help is needed. Once the 15 mins is up, we are given the green light to drive off.
DeleteThank you for your description of the observation process. 👍
DeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteHurry up and wait seems to be the mantra everywhere.
ReplyDeleteLove all the food as always. Yummy.
Have a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous day too.
DeleteI haven't vaccinated yet ...
ReplyDeleteIt was a few months wait according to our age after we have registered.
DeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
Thank you, Sandee for hosting. Happy day.
DeleteWhat was the purpose of the spoon experiment? I want the yam puffs and the crispy chicken wings.
ReplyDeleteWe saw some Whatsapp article showing spoons or metal items sticking to their arms or forehead after having been vaccinated. So being curious, I tried and surprisingly it sticks. Don't know whether I became magnetic or it was due to my sweaty and sticky arm.
DeleteSo yummy 😋
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rajani.
DeleteI always love mist-covered mountains and am glad you have it as a backyard! Your breakfast and lunch look quite yummy. My 2nd dose of vaccine is scheduled for 27 August.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan. That will be about a month from now.
DeleteCongrats on getting your second dose Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha.
DeleteI will try the spoon experiment. Wonderful that you got your second shot, you should celebrate. Now you will feel much safer.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. I am relieved that I have completed the 2 doses. Hopefully, there is no need for a 3rd dose or a booster jab. We will continue to wear our mask and face shield whenever we have to go to public places.
DeleteI like the yum puffs. We don't have them here in USA. Both my daughter, daughter in law and I like yams. We have some clouds in our area which makes it a bit cooler than expected. Hopefully it won't get so hot late week. I hope you continue to feel good after your jab. God bless!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grandma Beckyl. I am a great fan of yam. The place of the jab is still sore and feeling slightly itchy. Hope it will all go away soon.
DeleteOooooo....Yam puffs!!! My girl's favourite! Unfortunately, none at the dim sum stall I went to that day - gotta look for it elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI cannot resist yam puffs especially the good ones.
DeleteFelicidades por la vacuna a mi me toca espera la segunda dosis. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteHope you can share some photo from a local museums.

DeleteGlad you got your second dose! And dim sum has to be one of my favorite treats! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathe.
DeleteYummy food, as always. I HATE shots, I always need comfort food afterwards, lol! - http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
ReplyDeleteI hate shots too but this time I am glad I was brave enough to see myself given both the vaccine shots.
DeleteWell that is over and done with for now, your jab -- what vaccine did you have?
ReplyDeleteWas amused at them showing you the vaccine in the syringe before and after, they obviously don't think the public trust them or am I wrong?
Love the look of those yams..
I had the Sinovac vaccine. There were some complaints of people being given empty shot. So to avoid any more complaints, they have to show the public before and after.
DeleteI like your metal spoon experiment. Now that you hav proved it, I know it is not a hoax. I had my 2nd dose on Sunday and feeling more brave to venture outside. Glad that your 2nd dose went fast and smoothly. Dim sum breakfast looks goo, I haven't had much since lock down so it is tempting to get some this week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing your 2nd dose. Even after completing both doses, we still have to wear our mask and observe all the safety precautions. Better not to take any chances.
DeleteGot my second dose April 7. It gives us peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteI too am relieved for completing both doses.
Deletecongrats on completing your vaccination!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux.
DeleteI love that first photo especially!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to get your vaccination.
Thanks for sharing with us at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2021/07/a-bit-of-saint-kitts.html!
Thank you, Sue for hosting.
DeleteSounds like a great day all around. Some people can balance the spoon on the ends of their noses, i've seen it done as a party trick.
ReplyDeleteI have tried it on my forehead but only stick a few seconds.
DeleteI think it is wonderful that you got your vaccine
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo-Anne.
DeleteBien por esa segunda dosis. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteI got my second dose on 27th 😊.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your 2 doses.
