Our morning walk started at about 6:54am.
No sign of sunrise at 6:54am.
Kledang Hill at 7:16am, reflection of sunrise.

~~~~~
Hubby and a friend compared notes on nasi kunyi.
The friend recommended this place with a better nasi kunyit at the Dong Ku Teng Restaurant in Canning Garden.
Nasi kunyit or turmeric rice (glutinous rice coloured with turmeric powder).
Hubby had the nasi kunyit served with chicken curry.
This chicken curry has a thicken gravy compared to others place.
I wanted to order curry noodle from the same stall but was told that only the dry version was available which I didn't want. So, I ordered prawn noodle instead, also from the same stall. The seller is generous with the prawns and fish cake slices. This stall starts business at about 6:30am.
Midday sky.
Blue sky and white fluffy clouds.
~~~~~
Having nothing to do, we drove to Ipoh Garden to buy neen koh and assam laksa.
We bought 4 pieces of fried neen koh and 2 pieces of fried banana. Then bought 2 portions of assam laksa and 2 pieces of crunchy fried bean curd sheet from another stall.
We have tried the neen koh a few times but this is the first time buying the fried bananas.
Look at the sticky neen koh oozing out from between the taro and potato slices. Neen koh is steamed and hardened sweet glutinous rice cake.
Crunchy fried bean curd sheet from the assam laksa stall.
Assam laksa with sweet sour fish flakes broth.
Assam laksa broth with thick rice noodle (lai fun).
~~~~~
Simple home cooked dinner.
As I will be cooking flower crabs, I cooked egg with ginger strips soup for hubby. He had steamed rice with this soup.
As I was still quite full, I didn't want any rice. I cooked flower crabs with ginger and wine soup for myself. I haven't had this dish for a long, long time. I gave a portion to my neighbour.
To quarrel with a neighbor is foolish;
a man with good sense holds his tongue.
(Proverbs 11:12, The Living Bible-TLB)
Such dazzling morning skies.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny.
DeleteOh the meal looks delicious and so does the sky.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret.
DeleteYour nasi kunyit and curry look so good! We don't have fried nien gao here - I did get to buy some very nice ones in Kuching once. In fact, here, we do not see nien gao unless it's Chinese New Year.
ReplyDeleteWe can enjoy nice fried nien gao from Pasir Pinji and Bercham the whole year. Before pandemic, we have to pre-order the fried nien gao.
DeleteGood idea with tumeric in rice!
ReplyDeleteDramatic sky-shot, beautiful!
We were offered fried bananas in Cuba, my sweet tooth woke up and liked it, but, ohhhh, the oozy looks... I would like!!!
Flower crabs?
And sharing, sooo good!
Here pitch-dark around 06:25 (I wake up by myself, whyever).
Thank you, Iris. Have a speedy recovery.
DeleteSo many delicious foods! Love turmeric rice. The midday sky shots are awesome, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThank you and happy day and weekend to you too.
Deletei like gooey type neen koh!
ReplyDeleteMe too. Love it.
DeleteMe alegro mucho de que hallĂ¡is disfrutado de tan bonito dĂa, y de tan espectacular y bello cielo.
ReplyDeleteComo el menĂº de hoy es tan abundante y variado, no sabrĂa decirte cual de ellos me gusta mĂ¡s, porque me gustan todos, pero lo que si te quiero decir es, que el plĂ¡tano frito es una especialidad de las islas españolas de Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, islas productoras de unos de los mejores plĂ¡tanos del mundo, y que no hay que confundir con las bananas.
Y por cierto, en la Isla de la Palma llevan cuarenta dĂas con un volcĂ¡n en erupciĂ³n, y la lava volcĂ¡nica estĂ¡ arrasando con buena parte de las plantaciones de plĂ¡tanos, y con las viviendas de sus habitantes. Una desgracia contra la que no se puede hacer nada, ya que contra la fuerza de la Naturaleza no hay nada que hacer.
Me ha gustado mucho, tu entrada de hoy.
Que disfrutes de una bonita y feliz semana, amiga Nancy.
Thank you, Manuel. So sad about the volcano lava destroying the banana plantations and homes. Hope the farmers will receive help to rebuild their farms and lives. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteInteresting food and lovely skies.
Thank you, Diane. All is well here and hope you are doing well too.
DeleteDelicious flower crabs and nien gao. While nien gao is easy to eat but the flower crabs take time to eat. Did you spend one hour to eat the flower crabs? The previous time I ate crabs took more than one hour. Sweat đŸ˜…!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. No problem with the crabs. Since we are at home, I took my own sweet time to taste the crabs. I didn't keep track of the time. Haha.
