Nescafe Shake, Pork Noodle & Update From My Garden

We woke up late this particular morning. Instead of taking the normal route for our morning walk, we walk straight to one of our regular coffee shop for breakfast.

Nescafe Shake for me and Chinese tea for hubby.
Toast with coconut jam (kaya) for me.
Pork noodle for hubby.
~~~~~
Back home in my garden.
Baby cucumber.
Lots of flowers but many dropped off due to the rain.
Plus my cucumber vines have been infested with pests.
Too much rain is also not good for the white bitter gourds or bitter melons.
These white bitter gourds are about the size of a pear.
I am thinking of making stuffed bitter gourds.
Hopefully, they will do better when the rainy season is over.
Don't be impatient for the Lord to act!
Keep traveling steadily along his pathway and
in due season he will honor you with every blessing,
and you will see the wicked destroyed.
(Psalm 37:34, The Living Bible-TLB)
  7. A nescafe shake sounds delicious. shame about the insects, some washing up liquid in water sprayed over them should get them gone though.
  12. The excess rain causes damages to vegetation anywhere and becomes a reason for the rise of vegetable prices, like how we experience it here now. Perhaps bitter gourds are left alone by pests due to bitterness, but I am unsure the leaves taste bitter as well.
    1. Even though the pests do not attack the bitter gourd vines, the excess water from the rain is affecting the gourds.
  19. So much rain here this year also did not help our garden. The only things which really di well were the potatoes!
    I apologise for not being on line much. I had a bad fall out walking a couple of weeks back, sadly causing some damage to my lens which we are trying to get a spare part for. I think I cracked a rib, and I was black and blue and very sore. Just on the mend when I cracked my shin on the wheelbarrow yesterday, my leg ballooned and turned blue so an urgent trip to the Dr. I am now heavily bandaged with a compression bandage for the next 10days!!!
    Otherwise all is well !!
    Take care and keep safe Diane
  24. Your white bittergourds are doing so well! What a pity that the cucumber plant was infested. That's the frustration farmers and us gardeners have to face.
