I have a few home grown tomatoes in the fridge. Since they are home grown, I prefer to eat them raw.
I cut the chilled home grown tomatoes into wedges and drizzled Kewpie roasted sesame dressing on them.
~~~~~
The following were the canned food I used to prepare dinner. They were bought during MCO.
1 small can of fried sardine.
1 small can of pickled mustard green.
I poured the fried sardine into a small bowl. I took out the pickled mustard green and sliced it. I placed the sliced mustard green on top of the fried sardine. Before serving, I steamed it for a few minutes.
Fried sliced luncheon meat.
Steamed home grown long green okras and green brinjals (eggplants), topped with crunchy chili oil and sprinkling of soy sauce.
This was our dinner with plain brown rice porridge.
Now, I am happy to have cleared some of the canned food.
This mural was found on the wall of a nearby Chinese school.
I took this snapshot in March, 2020.
I think this mural has been replaced by another mural.
Linking to Monday Mural.
But you must be careful not to brag about
being put in to replace the branches that were broken off.
Remember that you are important only because
you are now a part of God's tree;
you are just a branch, not a root.
(Romans 11:18, The Living Bible-TLB)
My husband loves that lunchean meat, I can't eat it at all!
ReplyDeleteWith canned sardines I either make a pate with them to spread on crackers or I put them on toast for lunch. It's a lovely Chinese mural, thanks for participating in Monday Murals Nancy.
Thank you, Sami for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteNever tried this sardine goreng. Looks really nice with the pickled mustard green. Will go and look for those in the shops to give it a try. These days, we have been enjoying this Korean luncheon meat, have not been buying any of the other brands.
ReplyDeleteThe fried sardine tastes so much better with the pickled mustard green.
DeleteSimple ingredients to make a tasty dinner.
ReplyDeleteThank you, David.
Delete...that is a perfect mural for a school!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
DeleteThis is the first time I see a can of fried sardine. I want to try it.
ReplyDeleteMy specialist doctor just advised me not to eat raw tomatoes. So sad.
Never mind, raw tomatoes is just small sacrifice for your good health.
DeleteIt's a good mix of canned and homegrown flavors. Excellent mural to complement the school.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan.
DeleteYou made good use of the stored ingredients to make a tasty dinner, well done! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie. So glad it turned out delicious.
DeleteI wonder how Fried Sardine taste with Pickled Mustard Green because I have not eaten this combination. I also haven't bought any Korean Luncheon Meat before. Do you prefer Korean luncheon meat to Singapore luncheon meat? I love your home grown vege dish and I could eat the whole vege dish without any dressings or sauces. Happy to see you using up the canned food. I must check the canned food expiry date in my house.
ReplyDeleteThe combination of both the can food makes the dish very appetizing. Both luncheon meat is good for me.
DeleteI ate the tomatoes. Delicious.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for sardines, but my mother and my husband loves them.
Have a fabulous day and week, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. I don't quite like sardine but with this combination, I ate most of it. Have a fabulous day and week too.
DeleteGood way to use up canned food, Love that mural!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. Have a good week too.
DeleteDifferent food then I eat for sure
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo-Anne.
DeletePackaged foods are very useful for preparing meals quickly. In the cupboard it is convenient to have some that will get us out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Norma. Keeping some canned food in the house comes in handy during emergency.
DeleteTodo interesante. Los tomates son de tu cosecha? Besitos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteI do like the mural.
ReplyDeleteThank you, William.
DeleteSometimes you have to start using the canned food so it doesn't go out of date, but i agree that tomatoes from the garden need to be eaten raw.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi.
DeleteSe ve muy rico el fiambre, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteMy hubby is fan of spam, not me as much.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
We love it but only enjoy once in a while.
DeleteIt's quite interesting how you combined the fried sardines with pickled mustard greens. I just stocked up on luncheon meat recently. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have finished all the luncheon meat, so I too need to stock up.
DeleteActually what is pickled mustard green? Is it kiamchye?
ReplyDeleteYes, canned kiam chye. Lol!
