Fish+Veggie Curry, Eggs+Green Amaranth, Fried Pork Rib & Steamed Lala

The weather forecast showed that there will be rain in the morning. The sky was dark but it didn't rain so we set out on our morning walk.

Morning sky with dark clouds at 7:25am.
There is a foldable umbrella in the backpack that hubby used to carry and it will come in handy if it rains.
It remained gloomy and cloudy for most of the day without any rain.

One of our favourite restaurants is Restoran Mun Ji, Menglembu. We have our favourite dishes which we will order without fail. Below are 2 dinners about a month apart that we had and you will know what are our favourites.

1st Dinner
#1 - Fish curry with assorted vegetables and tofu puffs.
#2 - Green Amaranth with egg gravy
(century egg, salted egg and normal chicken egg).
#3 - Fried pork rib
Purple Wishbone flowers from my garden.
These will sprout out in the flower pots and ground in my garden.
After a while, these will dry out and will be removed. After a while, new plants will reappear. They come and go as they like.

2nd Dinner.
#1 - Fish curry with assorted vegetables and tofu puffs.
#2 - Green Amaranth with egg gravy
(century egg, salted egg and normal chicken egg).
#3 - Steamed spicy and sour clams or lala.
As you can see #1 & #2 are fixed, so we try to order something different for #3 whenever we dine here. Sometimes, we will order Dong Po Yoke (Jiggling Braise Pork Belly) for the 3rd dish.
Lovely Pink Showers Mexican Petunia from my garden.
This busy bee came just after I had watered the plants.

He will listen to the prayers of the destitute,
for he is never too busy to heed their requests.
I am recording this so that future generations will also
praise the Lord for all that he has done.
And a people that shall be created shall praise the Lord.

  1. Thank you Nancy for the photos of your delicious dinners, so mouth watering. My favourite will be Fish+Veggie Curry and Eggs+Green Amaranth too. The Fried Pork Rib & Steamed Lala look good too. Normally how many people at one table to order 3 dishes like yours for dinner?

  9. The weather here is fairly similar to yours, with clouds gathering but no rain, as opposed to the southern and western portions of our state, which experience rain and flooding. Your garden flowers are beautiful!

  13. The flowers are lovely. We are like so many other places this year and had very little rain. Everything is parched and completely unlike English weather.
