For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down -
when we die and leave these bodies -
we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven,
homes that will be ours forevermore,
made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

Lunch With Friends At Best View Restaurant, Desa Rishah, Ipoh

This was a Tuesday. We were looking forward to meet up and fellowship with our old friends whom we haven't met for a long time.

We woke up later than usual and started our morning walk at about 7:20am.
Overcast sky the whole day.
~~~~~
At about 12pm, our friends came to pick us up from our house. Our friends wanted a place with air-con since the day was warm. We took them to Best View Restaurant. Since it was a weekday lunch, there is no need for table reservation. For dinner, table reservation is needed.
I think this is "yau cham" or "soak in oil" fish with drizzling of garlic oil and soy sauce.
Sambal asparagus with prawns.
Green Amaranth (yeen choy) and century egg in superior soup.
Tofu with assorted vegetables in clay pot.
Lunch for 4 people.
This was a treat from our friends.
~~~~~
My sister-in-law and her husband was in Ipoh and we were invited for a vegetarian dinner with them. The dinner was for 8 people and I didn't take any food photos. After dinner, my sister-in-law passed us the following foodstuff.
Fresh peach.
3 packets of fried tempe chips.
Sorry for the blur photo.
Some mini size sweet potatoes.
These are good for steaming or roasting.
A packet of organic soybean powder.
Thank you, SIL for your gifts.

And God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life;
it is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled,
beyond the reach of change and decay.

Growing Cranberry Hibiscus In My Garden

As usual our day started with morning walk

at 6:42am
Sunrise at 7:40am
In March this year about 6 months ago, I received a cranberry cutting from a friend. From  this 1 cutting, I now have 2 pots of cranberry plants. When my friend told me that her plants have flowered, I went out to check on my plants.
True enough, I saw a few flower buds on the plants. Few days later, I started to see flowers.
The first cranberry flower from my garden. My cranberry plants are now about 7 feet tall. I couldn't bring myself to trim off the top of the plants because of the flower buds.
Cranberry hibiscus has greenish purple/red colour leaves and they look like maple leaves. The colour of the flowers are in deep cranberry red. They flower all the year round. They are now exposed to the morning sun. I hope to move them to a place with full sun exposure.
These plants are easy to grow and easy to maintain. It is easy to propagate from stem cuttings and seeds. I have yet to get to see the seeds and I will try propagating from seeds if when available.
Information from the internet concerning cranberry hibiscus:
The leaves and flower petals contain antioxidants, calcium, iron and vitamins B2, B3 and C. Both the leaves and flower petals can be eaten raw in salads and stir fries. The leaves taste tart and sourish like cranberries.
At the end of the day, the flowers will fold up inward and look like the above.
The folded flowers are then collected and the petals removed to be used to steep in hot water or blended with lime juice and sugar.
The tea has the colour of cranberries, taste sweet and tart like cranberries and can be taken hot or cold.
Hibiscus tea promotes belly fat burning, weight loss, reduces fat absorption and lowering bad cholesterol.
As with all herbal remedy, drinking too much hibiscus tea could cause possible side effects as such faintness, drowsiness, and etc. I have not tried consuming the leaves or flowers of the cranberry hibiscus.

When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up - the flames will not consume you.

Lunch At Restoran Char Siew Yoong, Jalan Peel, Kuala Lumpur

This was the 3rd and last day in Semenyih. At about 11am, we drove out from Semenyih to Cheras. We have arranged to have lunch with elder son at Restoran Char Yoong, Jalan Peel.

We were ahead of the peak lunch hour so we were able to get a big table to accommodate 7 of us. By about 11:45am, customers have to wait to be seated.
We ordered 2 plates of their "melt-in-the mouth" char siew.
The "melt-in-the mouth" part is actually the fat part.
1 plate roast pork with crunchy skin.
Braised chicken feet.
This may seem gross to some but this is hubby's favourite dish. This used to be a cheap dish but now it is considered a delicacy to some people.
2 bowls of sweet sour mustard green aka choy keok.
This place is known for their "melt-in-the mouth" bbq pork or char siew.
Non-stop chopping of roast pork and bbq pork.
After lunch, we were taken to K.L. Sentral where we waited for our train.
We were early so we had some time to enjoy some coffee with our friends.
Thanks to our friends for their time and hospitability during our 3D2N stay with them. Some even took leave to spend time with us.
This was a wonderful and memorable time spent with our friends and our sons.
Our train departed from KL Sentral at 3pm sharp and we reached Ipoh at about 5:45pm. We had dinner at WK Claypot Chicken rice before going home. We didn't want to wait for the claypot rice so we ordered the ready cooked dishes and rice.
Sweet sour pork rib.
Chicken curry.
Sweet sour mustard green.
This is the 2nd time we had this dish but cooked differently.
I saw this antique phone at the lobby of a hotel in Penang that we stayed in.
A new Big Apple nursery & kindergarten in our area. Not sure if this is a new extension to the existing one which is behind this building.

For you have a new life.
It was not passed on to you from your parents,
for the life they gave you will fade away.
This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ,
God's ever-living Message to men.

Dinner At Restoran Siaw Kah & Satay At Willy Satay In Kajang

On the 2nd evening in Semenyih, it was agreed that we will have dinner at Restoran Siaw Kah in Kajang. There were altogether 8 of us including both our sons.

We came especially for this hot pepper soup.
Ingredients: pork belly slices and pig's stomach plus lots of green.
Stir fried choy tam or Chiense Brussels sprouts.
Stewed pork tendon in clay pot.
It was brought bubbling hot to the table.
Stewed pork belly in clay pot.
Meat rolls.
Tofu with assorted vegetables.
Since we were nearby, we drove to Willy Satay after dinner.
My son ordered 30 skewers of satay (10 each of chicken, mutton & beef) only because we had just eaten dinner. I tried 1 skewer of each type of meat.
Peanut sauce for dipping.
Here ends our 2nd day in Semenyih.
I found this marine life mural on the wall of a school in Tanjung Tualang.

Linking to Monday Mural.

Then God said, "Let the waters teem with fish and other life,
and let the skies be filled with birds of every kind."
So God created great sea animals,
and every sort of fish and every kind of bird.
And God looked at them with pleasure, and blessed them all.
"Multiply and stock the oceans," he told them,
and to the birds he said, "Let your numbers increase.
Fill the earth!" That ended the fifth day.
