Breakfast At Restoran Sun Heng Kee, Ipoh

We have been skipping our morning walk on and off for almost more than 2 weeks due to the rainy weather. One particular morning, the sky looked like it was going to rain, so we decided to drive out to town for breakfast. We decided to try out the food at Restoran Sun Heng Kee which we haven't been to.

1st breakfast on a Monday morning.

After checking out all the stalls, I decided to ordered chicken wine soup with wheat noodle (meesua).
Hubby ordered flat rice noodle with egg gravy (wan tan hor).
The 1st day's breakfast was good.
2 days later, we went back to the same place for breakfast.
This time, hubby wanted to try the curry noodle as he saw many customers ordering it.
And I wanted to try the assam laksa from the same stall as the curry noodle. Between the 1st and 2nd day, we enjoyed the 1st day's breakfast more. Since this is a rainy season, we may have many opportunities to try out the places which we haven't been to.

According to the writing above, the food stalls have been in operation since 1973 in one of the side alleys. They are now located permanently at Diamond Cafe, Jalan Tranchell, Menglembu. The curry noodle business has been handed down to the 3rd generation.

Linking to Monday Mural.

God has sent me to help his Church
and to tell his secret plan to you Gentiles.
He has kept this secret for centuries and generations past,
but now at last it has pleased him to tell it to those who love him
and live for him, and the riches and
glory of his plan are for you Gentiles, too.
And this is the secret: Christ in your hearts is your only hope of glory.
(Colossians 1:25-27, The Living Bible-TLB)

  1. Your mee sua sure looks different from our Fuzhou ones here. I had a big bowl on my birthday - in my blogpost today. A must-eat on such auspicious occasions!

  19. Thank you Nancy. For the 4 dishes, I would go for the chicken wine soup Mee suah as it looks like it has a lot of ingredients in it. Did you both eat breakfast at this same coffee shop Sun Heng Kee for the 3rd time or more?
