On Sunday, a friend sent the following photos from her garden.
Photos credited to Shirley T.
So nice to see her snake plant blooming.
Snake plant has such pretty flowers.
Her Cordyline Red Sister plants are also flowering.
The flowers are so pretty.
They do look like orchid flowers.
Once upon a time, I too had this plant in my garden but no more.
Found this truck model next to the lobby of the hotel we were staying in when we were in Penang.
And these portraits on the wall at the same place.
These must be some famous celebrities.
It is better to be slow-tempered than famous;
it is better to have self-control than to control an army.
(Proverbs 16:32, The Living Bible-TLB)
Eeeee....mother-in-law's tongue! Didn't know it will flower! Yes, the Cordyline flowers are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteYes, snake plants for mother-in-law's tongue do flower.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Roentare.
DeleteThis snakeplante is called mother-in-law's sharp tongue in Norway

Thank you, Sandee. Have a great day.
DeleteNancy, I never saw sanseviera flourish and had one for many years. I will tell you about something I found on Google about that plant and its names here:
ReplyDeleteMother-in-law's tongue π fox tail π¦ Saint George's sword ⚔ tiger's tail π Saint George's rod π€Ί are some of the names by which you can find this plant.
You know her from grandma's house, from the sidewalk, from memories, the room, childhood. These places have treasured this beautiful plant for generations.
Against envy, for good luck, some even use it as an amulet!
Thank you, Norma. Yes we also know this plant as mother-in-law's tongue. If the plant is left fighting for space in a pot, it will usually flower. Mine are all spaced out in different pots and they have plenty of room to grow, so it not easy for me to see mine flower.
DeleteThank you Nancy. I have seen both these plants but I have never seen their flowers. The flowers are pretty. Do the plants need to be over one year old to flower?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the internet, the plants will usually flower when it is limited in growing space.
DeleteGracias amiga Nancy por tan linda entrada; las plantas son un maravilloso conjunto de luz y color, y los detalles del hotel muy curiosos y bonitos.
ReplyDeleteUn cordial saludo y cuΓdate mucho.
Thank you, Manuel.
DeleteNone of my Snake Plants have ever bloomed. I want a Cordyline!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. Mini also haven't bloomed. From now, I will separate the babies from the mother plant but let them grow today hoping one day, I will get to see them flower.
DeleteThese are very beautiful flowers in the above displayed pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Duta.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteMy mother has 4 snake plants, i've never seen them flower. I wonder why.
ReplyDeleteI read that they need sunlight and limited growth space to force them to bloom.
DeleteLindas plantas. Te mando un beso. https://enamoradadelasletras.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThank you, Citu.
DeleteThank you Nancy for sharing the beautiful plants. May I know what fertiliser you put into it. How to make the snake plant blooms? My snake plant has been with me for more than 7 years but it has never bloomed flowers before. Appreciate you sharing and thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley. I am sorry, the photos shown are from my friends and the plants are from her garden. My snake plants also never bloomed before. According to google, the plants need sunlight, less water, and limited growing space to force them to flower. I seldom fertilize my snake plant. I used to separate the babies from the mother plant, so now I won't and will let them grow and compete with each other and wait for the flowers. Lol!
DeleteBeautiful plant and good blog. Success for your blog
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vicky.
DeleteThose flowers are VERY pretty!
ReplyDeleteFiring truck that is. I know none of those women, though.
Thank you, Iris.
DeleteSou sweet flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rudbekia.
DeleteOur indoor snake plant bloomed one year, which I understand is unusual when grown inside. The flowers produced a sticky sap.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/02/a-few-images-from-chinese-lantern.html
That is a surprise and amazing for an indoor plant to flower.
