It's been a long, long time since we had been here. I think it should be more than a year or a year and a half that we last had our dinner here. This is the popular place famous for its "Dai Sai Keok" (Big Small Leg - direct translation). The shop is called Kedai Makanan Kum Kee in Pasir Pinji, Ipoh.
It has its humble beginning besides a big drain just down the road. I remembered it was a wooden shack and you get the foul smell from the drain as you eat your food. Later it shifted to its current location and the customer can enjoy their food minus the foul smell of the big drain.
This trip, we noticed that they have again expanded and added another two shop lots that is four shop lots altogether, if I am not mistaken. It was a weekday and the place is already filled with people even though we were early. As usual, the service is fast and we need not have to wait long for the food to be served.
Front view.
A plate of the popular "Dai Sai Keok", braised oink oink trotter (big leg) and chicken feet (small leg). That is how the name Big Small Leg came from.
A plate of Ipoh taugeh (beansprout)
A plate of noodles, dried stir with dark sauce, with a little curry gravy added.
The dishes look very nice!
ReplyDeleteThey are nice and tasty too
DeleteBig small leg dish is yummy! If it was still at the old location, I don't think I will want to eat there.
ReplyDeleteLol..surprisingly the business was good even beside the drain.lol...probably because it was night and it was dark.
DeleteThe noodles with the dark sauce looks divine to me! So you liked their food? They have really improved!
ReplyDeleteOnce in a while we will eat here. The new place is clean and comfortable compared to the one by the drain.
