Snakehead Fish Or San Yu Soup @ Restoran Chemor Villages

On Thursday, out of the blue, there is this yearning for san yu or snakehead fish soup and the only place that came to our mind is Chemor. At about 7.40 pm, even though it was still raining, we decided to go ahead with our plan to go to Chemor for our san yu soup dinner. We invited a friend to join us and we took a leisure drive to Chemor. As it was still raining, there was slight traffic jam at certain parts of the road.

We arrived at our destination at about 8.25 pm. There was no crowd at this hour and we saw only 4 tables were occupied with customers.
We ordered a Snakehead Fish (san yu) slices soup in clay pot. The boss told us that there is not enough san yu slices left and whether it is alright to add grouper slices to our soup. We were quite happy to settle for a mixture of san yu and grouper slices in our soup, as long as we have fresh fish and piping hot and tasty soup, especially on cool, rainy night. MYR 25 (approx. 7 USD),
We also ordered Steamed Fresh Clams (Lala in Cantonese).
MYR 15 (approx. 4.20 USD)
And a plate of Fern Spikes (sayur paku pakis in Malay), stir-fried with prawn paste (belacan in Malay). MYR 10 (approx. 2.80 USD).
We enjoyed a good, yummy dinner with good fellowship and nice leisure drive to and from Chemor.
Total cost MYR 54.40 (approx. 15.23 USD)

But God made the earth by His power;
He founded the world by His wisdom and
stretched out the heavens by His understanding.
When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;
He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightning with the rain and
brings out the wind from His storehouses.
(Jeremiah 10:12-13, New International Version-NIV)
