Economy Rice And Porridge At Restoran Bandar Ipoh In Ipoh New Town

We noticed a new restaurant getting ready for its opening when we drove passed one morning after our breakfast in town. We thought we will have a new place to try for breakfast but on closer look, the business time will be from 10 am to 8.30 pm.
A newly opened restaurant selling economy rice and porridge.

This leaflet was dropped into our mailbox before its opening.
It claimed to have 80 over dishes.

On our first trip, this was my dinner. A plate of white rice (small portion) with 2 small pieces of Chinese pork chop, vegetarian cabbage and tofu pok curry and minced pork with some preserved vegetable. This plate cost MYR 3.80 (1.03 USD). Chinese tea & plain water are free.

This was for my lunch on my second trip.

Fish, tofu with minced pork, green veggie and a bowl of plain porridge, price MYR 7.00 (1.89 USD).

Here is the start of the queue. This worker is in charge of scooping rice. The customers need to tell him whether he/she is eating in or taking away.

Besides the rice, everything is self-service.

The posters are very nicely done and made the dishes very attractive.

Looking at these posters awaken my appetite! Frankly, with so many dishes, I find it very difficult to choose.

We saw many customers especially office workers buying back food for the family. Some even brought with them their own tiffin carrier.

At the end of the queue is the payment counter. The price is reasonable too.

Clean and comfortable with plenty of seating space for customers.

A corner shop, located at where Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil meets Jalan Lau Ek Ching.

My soul thirst for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

    1. There is a saying "too many choices causes confusion".

  5. The rice meal you had is very affordable but the porridge meal is a bit expensive at rm7, is it because of the price of the fish which is higher. Good point is that the price looks clean.

    1. The difference in price is because of the fish. Fish is expensive.

  11. I can't believe how cheap the food is. It looks like a great meal except for the fish head. I love fish without head, lol.

  15. Many people complained about the unreasonable price that the seller is trying to set. Apparently, we need to boycott this rice stall due to the recent change of price which is completely unbearable.

    1. I do not know of the recent price hike because I have not been there for many months now. Looks like prices are shooting up everywhere.
