When we first planned the Sekinchan trip, we planned to stay a night and include a seafood dinner there. Somehow there was a change of plan because we had a dinner gathering with some friends at Restoran Lee Hong Kee in Sungai Buloh.
So after our visit to the seaside, we drove to Sungai Buloh. A short distance after leaving Sekinchan, one of our car's tyre burst! We thank God Almighty, the car didn't get out of control. We continue our journey with a spare tyre until we found a shop to replace with a new tyre.

A dinner gathering of 12 people.
Came with a pair of scissors and plastic gloves. Need an expert to do it?
How come not like this chicken model pose?
Next we had half a roasted duck.
Kerabu Paku Pakis, an appetizing cold dish.
Baby Kai Lan with taro/yam.
Mixed vegetables.
Green vegetable with salted mustard.
Tilapia fish in a clay pot.
Yet You, LORD, are our Father.
We are the clay, You are the potter;
We are all the work of Your hand.
(Isaiah 64:8, NIV)
So yummylicious.... They look like dancing ducks? Really worth going for foodie trips like this, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteInstead of chopping up the roasted chicken and serve it on a plate, they came up with this idea with the upright chicken and let the customers have the hands on experience on the chicken. The foodie trips must be with the right company, then it is worth the journey!
DeleteI have always love roast chicken and it has been a very long time since I have had roast duck.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I have always love roast chicken and duck too, especially those with crispy skin!
DeleteThat is quite a feast!
ReplyDeleteHi William, I think it is...but more of a gathering.
DeleteHa-ha standing tall the chicken :)
ReplyDeleteThey told me that it is called "dong tuk kai" (sounds something like this) ha haaa..
DeleteOh my, what a feast. What a feast. I want some of everything.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend Nancy. ☺
Hi Sandee. Wishing you a fabulous day and great weekend too!

DeleteWow, you always have such impressive feasts it all looks delightful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mamas. Wishing you a delightful weekend!
DeleteThat was a delightful dinner. Nevermind how the roasted chicken pose as long as it tasted superb & everyone is enjoying it. Yums!!!...
ReplyDeleteHi Irene, ya ya...the chicken do taste delicious, love the crispy skin. Have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteYou may find me a bit squeamish but I can't eat meat with the head attached or eat feet.... Wether it's fish, bird or animal. The veggies looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
JB
Hi Julia, I am afraid that most Chinese restaurants serve certain fish and chicken dishes whole with the head and feet attached. But there are many other dishes will be without the heads and feets. Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteHaha...I'm so tickled by the 'standing chicken'. It looks outstanding ..lol. Would love to try it one day, Nancy ^.^
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, I rather have the chicken like the model pose outside the restaurant. It looks more graceful and natural, not like the stiff one..hahaaa...but most important is the taste!
DeleteThe 'standing chicken', just now i pass by a eatery place, also saw 'standing chicken'...
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, could be picking up in popularity.
DeletePTL the car didn't spin out of control. I like the paku dish the best!
ReplyDeleteHi Mun, yes PTL! I dare not think about what would happened if it did! I love paku pakis too, especially if its a kerabu dish.
DeleteNancy, I've been to this one! But we did not try the standing chicken. The char siew and siew yoke here is supposed to be very good.
ReplyDeleteHi Phong Hong, our host ordered roasted duck so we didn't get to taste the char siew and siew yoke.
DeleteNancy, this 'standing chicken' is so cutie. At first glance I thought it's a standing peking duck ... baby kailan with yam looks good :D
ReplyDeleteThe standing chicken tasted good and the baby kailan with yam also very good.
DeleteThis restaurant is near my house, but I've only ever had their 'poon choy'. Heard the food isn't that special.
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy, it was my first time there so I won't be able to give a good review. Have a wonderful day!
