Beef Rice And Beef Porridge For Dinner

For the last few days the air pollutant index over Ipoh has been quite high. The reading had been between 70 to 90 and some areas over 90. The haze is really making us very uncomfortable and tired.

Most evenings we have been cooking simple meals, like soups and drinking lots of water. One evening I didn't have the time to cook, and hubby suggested we go for porridge dinner.
Hubby drove to Jalan Yang Kalsom.
The eatery is opposite the Chinese Methodist Church.
Restoran Wing Hoong Lapan.
There were not many customers.
Hubby's dinner - white rice + stir fried beef slices with young ginger & spring onions. He changed his mind about eating porridge.
My dinner - porridge + beef slices, crullers, ginger strips.
2 glasses of cooling drink to cool down the body heat.
(watercress boiled with dried honey dates)
Total cost of dinner + drinks = RM13.00

He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words,
And a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit
(self-control, an even temper).
(Proverbs 17:27, AMP)

  9. I love the look of your porridge. I'm sorry about your air quality. It is good to stay indoors as much as possible in this kind of weather. Especially if you have any breathing problems. Take care and have a great week!

  11. Hardly could find beef porridge over here. Maybe because of mostly Buddhists and they dont eat beef. But we have chicken, fish and pork porridge here. Beef noodle soup is quite easy to find too.

  13. Porridge for me anytime. Over in Kuching our air is considered in the unhealthy zone, over 100+++, and have not been able to do my morning exercise at the park.

    1. Thank you, Stacy. Ha ha..I also prefer my crullers crispy too. But since its only a few pieces, I will pick and eat the crullers first before they go soft.
