DINNER WITH AN OLD FRIEND IN LAWAN KUDA, GOPENG.

Last month, hubby and I met up with an old friend who is staying in Gopeng for a simple dinner. We called up to inform that we will be taking her out for an early dinner. Gopeng is about 21 km or 40 minutes drive from our place.
We picked up our friend from her house and drove to Lawan Kuda village, intending to take her to a new place for our dinner.
Lawan Kuda village is about 3 km from Gopeng town.
Our friend was very excited to know where this place is.
Oh no! From excitement to disappointment! A closed gate!
Few days ago, we came back again and this time we brought some friends here to try the food and if you are interested to see the beautiful scenery of this place, you can click here.
We did a U-turn and drove to another nearby eatery which is famous for its tasty fish soup. We were early and in a short while, dinner was served.
We ordered a Snakehead fish (san yu in Cantonese).
The meaty part to be plain steamed with enoki mushroom and ginger strips.
The remaining of the fish to be fried and cooked in soup. It is called Drunken Fish Soup. Once you have tasted this soup, we will want to come back for more!
Our friend enjoyed the soup and almost forgot the other dishes.
And a plate of glass lettuce for green and fiber.
3 dishes more than enough for 3 of us.
Total cost of dinner inclusive of 6% GST - RM50.55
If you are interest, the address is as below:-
Restoran Peng Yew,
50, Jalan Aman, Desa Lawan Kuda, 31600 Gopeng.
Contact No: 016-532 1520 / 012-468 2310.

After dinner, we sent our friend back to her house and we drove back to Ipoh.
The night was still young!
Linked to Good Fences and Skywatch Friday

I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.
