All In A Week.

Today's post is a mish-mash of things that happened last week.

Our outdoor afternoon activities have been reduced due to the heatwave, an average of 36 deg C. All I want to do is hide inside my house with the fan full blast. And if we sometimes take afternoon nap, we need to use the air conditioner. Some of my friends prefer to spend their afternoon in the supermarkets or the malls where the air conditioner is free. I am just too lazy to change my clothes!
Last week, Thursday, I needed to go to the hair dresser. I made an appointment with her one day earlier. This place is within short walking distance from my house.
The customer on my right has gone for a hair wash. After that the hair dresser will be tending to my hair shortly.
This is me, occupying myself while waiting for my turn.
I needed to keep my hair cut because I sweat a lot.
Later, we went for our afternoon snacks. Its mung beans and pumpking sweet porridge with a little bit of coconut milk.

A plate of vegetarian beehoon to share.
The next day, Friday, I visited the dentist. While waiting for my name to be called, I snapped this picture of the wall behind me.
The little child in me still enjoys this picture.
Last Friday was Good Friday. Later in the evening after dinner,
we attended Good Friday service in church.
And finally, its Good Fences once again and I have 3 fences to share.
Thank you, Theresa for hosting.
High chain link fence and a rusty gate on the left.
Lower half concrete and upper half metal fence around a house.
And lastly, a wooden fence.

Even if the fig tree does not grow figs
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even if the olives do not grow and the fields give no food,
even if there are no sheep within the fence
and no cattle in the cattle-building,
yet I will have joy in the Lord.
I will be glad in the God who saves me.

Chicken Rice At Restoran Nasi Ayam Pak Kong, Ipoh.

My eldest son loves to eat chicken rice and it is especially the chicken rice from Restoran Nasi Ayam Pak Kong. Chicken rice in Malay is nasi ayam. During his recent trip back home for his holidays, we had chicken rice for lunch.

Parking in this area is not easy. To avoid the crowd and to get a table, we had to go earlier before the peak lunch hour.
Roast or deep fried chicken with soy sauce.
A plate of Hainan style poached chicken with soy sauce.
 BBQ pork or char siew.
Rice.
Soup is free....
Sweet sour boiled veggie - our favourite and it is very appetizing!
Sambal Petai or stinking beans with spicy prawn paste.
Hubby's and my favourite but NOT our sons' favourite!
Wisdom gives: a long, good life, riches, honor, pleasure, peace.
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who eat her fruit;
happy is the man who keeps on eating it.

I have done 2 previous posts on Chang Jiang F&B. If you are interested, you can visit them here  (1st visit) & here (breakfast). Today, in this post, I will be sharing on the Old Treasures that I have found in Chang Jiang F&B.
These photos were taken in the exhibit room behind the dining room.
Old bicycle
In the old days, we also have enamel wares like these mugs & coffee pot.

Coffee beans in gunny sacks.

Coffee cloth strainer and old coffee tins.
Changing coffee culture - how to make Ipoh white coffee....
All about Chang Jiang white coffee.........

Old Tricycle

Fiber knitted sandals.
Perforated aluminium bowl.
Below are some common breakfast food that goes well with coffee...
Eggs...
Biscuits...
Buns and chicken wing. Chicken wing...?
Bread slices...
All these are counterfeits on display and we were deceived into thinking they were all real food except for the chicken wing,

Thank you, Tom & NC Sue for hosting.

Don't be carried away and deceived regardless of what they say.
For the day will not come until two things happen:
first, there will be a time of great rebellion against God,
and then the man of rebellion will come - the son of hell.
He will defy every god there is and
tear down every other object of adoration and worship.
He will go in and sit as God in the temple of God,
claiming that he himself is God.

From Jeram To Kampar For Desserts & Snacks.

After having taken our brunch in Jeram which I have posted about earlier here, we drove on to Kampar because we were still early and not in a rush to return to Ipoh yet.
I was trying to get a picture of the arch of Jeram as we were leaving but this is what I managed to captured as the car swerved to take the turning!
My friend wanted to take us to the riverside stalls for some desserts and snacks. We parked the car a short distance away and we walked to these stalls.
This was about 2 weeks ago and the weather very hot.
Apartment building in front of the stalls.
One of our foodie friends, a very sporting girl!
We were not sure which stall to go to, finally we ended up here.
Now sitting here in this hot afternoon, I really feel like having one of this cold sweet dessert to cool down.
We ordered some of these cute deep fried minced meat balls from the next stall, called Kedai Hoong Kee.
And some of these fish and meat balls plus stuffed tofu puff.
Then we walked back to a coffee shop near where the car was parked to enjoy a cup of coffee.
This place is more like a food court with many food stalls.
We ordered coffee & other drinks plus one of these kaya puff, just to try!
Time to leave for Ipoh. My friend packing lunch for her girls.
My friend pointed out these photos which were high up above us. These were the olden days Kampar.
Kampar was a tin mining town.
Currently, Kampar is blessed with universities, colleges, hotels, supermarkets, etc.
The last 2 photos show the modern day Kampar town. It has grown from a small mining town.

 Dear brothers,
giving thanks to God for you is not only the right thing to do,
but it is our duty to God because of the really wonderful way
 your faith has grown and
because of your growing love for each other.
