A Day Trip To Teluk Intan, Perak.

Last week we decided to make an impromptu day trip to Teluk Intan. This Teluk Intan town sits on the river bank of the Perak River. In the early days, this town was first named Teluk Mak Intan. The name was later changed to Teluk Anson or Anson Bay, in honour of Major-General Sir Archibald Edward Harbord Anson who drew the plan of the modern township in 1882. In 1982, the name was changed to Teluk Intan or Diamond Bay by the Sultan of Perak.

This leaning tower is one of the town's tourist attraction.

A friendly local lady introduced us to this Kedai Makanan & Minuman Hawaii at Jalan Ah Cheong where you can get good desserts and noodles.

She assured us that we would not be able to miss this dessert truck parked in front of the row of shops next to the Anson Hotel. Just look at the customers queuing up for the food.

 Time to relax and cool down in the neat and clean shop after the walk under the hot sun.

 This is a nice comfortable place to enjoy our brunch and desserts.

While waiting for our orders to be served, it was time for some photographs.

The 3 of us shared the following for brunch.

 A bowl of Curry Noodle with ingredients e.g. fried bean curd, veggie, etc.

 A bowl of Assam Laksa with lots of fish flakes.

 By sharing, we get to taste a bit of everything.

 A small plate of Rojak Buah or fruit salad with dark sauce and topped with lots of crispy fried goodies.

We also ordered a bowl of their Special Hawaii fruit cocktail to share. And we each ordered our own drink - passion fruit, black grass jelly, and lime juice to quench our thirst. To be continued tomorrow.
